Since it was a Saturday, the children could play as much as they liked. … Old Crows Town was a small town. From above, the outline of the town looked like a crow with black outlines and everything. No one knew how exactly how long Old Crow Town had been around. Not even Old Cabbage, the oldest man in the town. Many of the members in the town had either migrated there or the members of the older generation who knew anything about the town’s history were long dead.

I thought I could see someone stand on the bridge, but I wasn't sure. They had gone all out for the special occasion. The streets were incredibly clean, not to even mention the number of flowers they had decorating the shops and even the streetlights. It looked like we had straight-up walked into a magical fantasy land. "Welcome to Avian, girls." Gwen's voice sounded through our speakers. "As you can see, the streets are rather busy. It will take us some time to get to the castle." The streets only seemed to become more and more crowded as we got closer to the castle.

Suddenly my vision goes hazy and the room starts to spin, I lose control of everything but manage to let three words pass my lips before I blackout, three words that I don't understand but speak anyway, as my world turns dark, they slip from my mouth before the blackness takes over. "My little wolf!"

The council chamber was cavernous, its stone walls adorned with banners bearing the crest of Arindale—a golden falcon soaring against a crimson backdrop. Emilia’s footsteps echoed as she entered, the heavy wooden doors closing behind her. The chamber was already alive with voices, nobles and advisors engaged in animated conversation.

THIRD PERSON Pov The cabin was the quietest place the maid had been in months. She sat on the bed and looked around the room and felt the absence of footsteps in the corridor outside, the absence of Konstantin's voice somewhere in the house, the absence of the tension that came from living in a space where you were useful but not safe. The room was small. The furniture was plain. The cook knocked and came in with the tray. The smell of the soup reached her before the woman had fully set it down. It was warm, and savory. Chicken, rice, vegetables and juice, everything was set out neatly on the small table beside the bed.

Not even when I felt a warm trickle on the back of my neck and realized it was a drop of blood from a cut I hadn’t even known I had. The river came into view like a ghost. Still and wide, glistening under the weak glow of moonlight. The air felt colder here, sharper. I could see my breath in white puffs. And just near the bank tucked into a cover of brambles and tree roots was the boat. Small. Silent. Hidden. Crow was already there, crouched by the outboard motor. His sleeves were rolled up, tattoos splattered with blood and grime. He looked up as we approached.

"I need your help, my feathered friend. Will you aid me in my mission?" The crow regarded me with intelligent eyes, its gaze unwavering as if probing my soul for any hint of deception. But I met its stare with unwavering determination, my resolve unshakeable in the face of uncertainty. After a moment that seemed to stretch into eternity, the crow let out a low caw, its response a silent affirmation of my request. With a sense of gratitude, I reached into my pocket and produced a small vial of shimmering liquid, offering it to the crow as a token of my appreciation.

In the distance, I could see the lights of the town. Then something happened which made my heart drop to my stomach. A black crow landed on the edge of a tree, cawing loudly. Its beady red eyes met mine. It flew directly towards me, squawking. My hand involuntarily tightened its grip on Aurora's arm and she flinched violently. Then the crow flew straight past her.

He says in a whisper as he lets me go. "Run Isabella, run!" He growls, shaking the entire mountain, immediately I take to my heels headed for deep in the foreign woods. As I continued running through the mountains, I could see a crow stalking me, watching with black eyes from above. I suddenly felt a chill cut through my heart like a knife to butter, as I remembered what my mom used to say. 'Crows represent death. Wherever a crow is found Death is sure to follow.' A sharp cry escapes my lips as I tripped over a jutted root, falling completely on the ground. Before I could get up I was lifted up by Cessair, hanging in thin air.

He started the car and drove off to where I didn't know. "Do you mind telling me where I'm being taken to? I feel like a sitting duck here." I complained. "You'll find out soon enough." I pouted and kept my mouth shut. I even closed my eyes so that I wouldn't see anything that would get me annoyed. I don't know how long the drive was but I heard the rumbling of a gate. Probably opening or closing. I opened my eyes and saw that we were inside someplace I would call heaven. I looked in awe at this magnificent territory. It had trees in all corners coupled with water fountains molded in different structures. The flower patches had different but matching colors.
