It was a bright afternoon when Darla pulled up outside Anya’s school. She adjusted her sunglasses and leaned back in her seat, scanning the area as children streamed out of the building. Her sharp eyes never missed a thing. Anya skipped toward the car, clutching her backpack. A wide smile lit up her face as she waved to her bodyguard. “Darla! Look, I got a gold star today!” Darla grinned, opening the car door for her. “That’s great, Anya. You’re making me proud. Hop in.”

She remembered it…..soon her doubts were cleared when she saw the living room with full of balloons and her friends were all wearing birthday caps ready for the blast.

The phone buzzes again. I grit my teeth, annoyed at the interruption. I’m already pissed, already on edge, and the last thing I need is another pointless message from him. I grab my phone, ready to tell him exactly what I think, to finally put an end to whatever game he’s trying to play. But the moment my eyes land on the words, my breath catches in my throat. “Darla crashed the party.” Everything around me fades. The room, the hum of my computer, the exhaustion pressing down on me—it all disappears in an instant.

Darla was shaking in humiliation. So many things in the last two days, from one girl. She knew no better than to take revenge on Cassandra. NICOLE "Is that Marcus Russell?" Darla exclaimed with such excitement that her loud voice startled Damian from his slumber. "Shh, Darla!" I cautioned her, trying not to wake Damian any further. As Marcus rose to his feet and wiped his face, I couldn't help but notice his tousled hair, likely a result of sleeping on the couch. "Wow, it really is Marcus!" Darla exclaimed, her bags falling to the ground in her excitement. "Hello Marcus, I'm Darla Zachary and I'm a huge fan of yours," she gushed, her eyes wide and shining as she looked at him in awe.

Darla steps in close, her other hand coming up to press against Alcina’s upper back where she feels the faintest edge of sharpened claws, resting against her. Alcina stutters. “Finish that sentence, little duckling,” Darla croons, an absolutely terrifying menace at only 5’8”, a horrifyingly beatific smile on her features. “And I might just trim a few inches off your height.” Alcina nods vehemently.

The next second she immediately opened the door and ran out of the room. "Gross! You're so disgusting, Darla!" Darla cursed to herself as she rubbed her arm like there was dirt on it. Her white arms instantly turned red from the excessive rubbing. And her tears fell. "Calm down, Darla. Your course will be finished. You will graduate and you can find a decent job." Once again, Darla cheered herself up. As soon as Darla stepped in, she heard a little girl's cry. A loud cry that made Darla reflexively cover her ears tightly. Whose child is crying hysterically this early in the morning?
