I stopped at the library door and smiled to myself. ‘Books are better than people. Books don’t hate on you for something you didn’t do.’ I pushed the door open and breathed in the wonderful smell of books. ‘Paradise.’ I strolled to the shelves and scanned through the books, reading their names off their spines. ‘It seems Dante wasn’t joking when he said half of his library was filled horrors.’ A book caught my eye, and I pulled it from the others. “Bone and Souls by B. Brian.” I read the name aloud and skimmed through the description behind it. “This seems interesting.”

He told her and placed his head on the study table, facing her. "Oh, okay sure." She started reading it, as she read through the scene she felt as if her fingers tips were going numb, she was feeling the joy radiating through her body. It was so good. It was so good that she wanted to cry. It was beautiful. She couldn't believe that he had written it. She could feel the scene coming to life right before her eyes, it was so well-defined and well written. She finished reading and looked at him. Her eyes held admiration for him, she never thought that he'd be so good with words. She felt like she was nothing in front of him and that was a big thing to admit as a writer herself.

“Well, Zeke’s a nice enough guy but maybe not the sharpest needle in the haystack. One of many reasons we only briefly dated.” The two dug into their meals, and Brad had to admit to himself that Bias was right, the food was absolutely delicious. Spicy and flavorful. Bias was scarfing down his food as if he were going into hibernation soon. “Speaking of you being a famous writer,” Bias said when he finally came up for air, “after you left Book Lady yesterday, I picked up another one of your books.” “Really? Which one?” “The collection, Dark Corners. I read the first four stories before bed last night, and I have to say I really enjoyed them.”

But the Bone House held her. Wren had stayed up late the night before carving Sophie’s name into the beam above the back wall. Luce had brought flowers from her mama's dying garden—dry, brittle lavender that still clung to a scent. Nova pinned a crumpled note with Sophie’s favorite book quote, scrawled from memory: "There is no beauty without something to break your heart." They sat in silence for a while, cross-legged on the dusty wooden floor, the thick hush of the woods pressing in around them. It was the only place that didn’t lie.

Master Alejandro questioned suddenly out of nowhere with his deep husky tipsy tone while tilting his head a little to the right, still staring at his woman who still had her eyes down on her book, silently for few minutes. Captivated by the looks, she made the book her choose without having any idea what was it. Looking decent the book was said to be the best seller of 1930s, that's all she knew. Madam Genelia heard many famous mentions about it but never she got the chance to read it before, hence discovering it here in the library she grabbed it without any second thought. Dear dairy I have been reading this amazing novel, and heart off I am loving it. The author must have put a lot of effort into writing it, I had never expected Edward to be the killer, I mean he’s too nice to have killed someone but turns out, he was faking everything. That novel is very great. hashtag: I love it. I can’t wait for part two of the novel, I have to find out if truly Josephine is a mummy and if Edward is dead. I need to read book two urgently.
