Novel & Cerita The Lycan King's Treasured Luna

No one dared to speak for the fear of angering the Lycan king more. “That wolf is but a weak and little wolf. She poses no threat to any of you here. I think you are only worried that, now she is here, your precious daughter won’t have a chance again. You are worried that I will make her my Luna.” He pauses for a bit before continuing. “Maybe I should really make her my Luna. After all, she is the only one I can touch and won’t rest too.” The Lycan king said, smirking at everyone.

“The First Mating Hunt. Tradition of the kingdom. The Luna must hunt and kill a sacred beast after her mating ceremony. The stronger the creature she brings down, the greater the fortune and prosperity the kingdom receives for the year.” My eyes widened slowly. He continued, “Some Lunas hunt moon-stags. Some hunt shadow-boars. A rare few—very rare—go after a night panther. But whatever you kill becomes your first offering as Luna. Isn’t that why you’re here? To train for it?” “No,” I said quickly. “It’s not. I didn’t even know about this until now.” A small ripple of irritation twisted in my chest. “I wonder why Jesse didn’t mention anything to me.”

“The legendary lycan Alpha, Kennis Blackwell, is coming to our territory. He’s seeking a young woman between the ages of 20 and 24 to become his Luna.” Gasps rippled through the crowd, and I felt the flicker of dread take root in my chest. Kennis Blackwell, his name alone, stirred dark thoughts and fear in every soul present. An ancient beast who had survived centuries, he was infamous for his ruthless nature and refusal to take another mate after losing his. Why, then, was he interested in a Luna now?

Raze cackled at such a statement and walked out while Brent walked after him. “Some Wolves?” “It's headed by a Lycan King,” Brent continued and that seemed to catch Raze's interest as he stopped working. “A Lycan King in a wolf pack? How??” “That's exactly what I've been trying to rack up since yesterday but I'm too busy searching for your Luna!!” He told him and he bit his lips. “Then find her, look for her. So that we can check out that bloody pack and the sacred Lycan head as I've mentioned earlier. I won't concentrate if I'm not okay and I pushed a poor girl to her death.”

She flipped through pages until she found what she was looking for. The Lycan King. King Daemon Blackthorn, Alpha of the Royal Pack, ruler of all territories. His word was law among werewolves, his power unmatched. If any Alpha could offer her protection without fear of reprisal from Mason, it would be him. But the Lycan King was notoriously difficult to reach. His pack was in the northern mountains, hundreds of miles away. He rarely involved himself in pack politics unless absolutely necessary. And why would he care about one Luna's problems?

“The forest is dangerous. If these men don't attack you something else will. Your best bet is staying with me.” I wasn't convinced. I still shuddered from my ordeal. Sensing my hesitance, the Lycan King added, “I wasn't joking about what I said the last time we met. I need a fiancée. I've marked you even before Aaron discarded you now and I'm here to formally ask you to go with me.” I stared at him in shock. “Think about it. Someone wants you dead. Aaron threw you away. Our world frowns on divorced lunas. I'm the Lycan king. Becoming my Luna will elevate you in ways you've never even imagined.”

As soon as Serena heard my voice, she lifted her head up and cast her all time irritated look like I was the reason all this was happening. But she wasn't important right now. My eyes drifted back to Adrian who pointed at a chair beside him and I slowly perched myself at the edge of the seat, not missing Serena's warning look which I ignored. “Do you believe me now?” I was at a loss for words. My mouth opened but I still couldn't believe what I was seeing. Adrian was actually the Lycan King, not some fifty year old grandpa like Jackson had said. Or could it be that he was the Lycan King's son? No, he was actually wearing the King's crown.

The look in their eyes— I understood it quite well. “So who is this sister of yours? According to what I know, only an extremely wealthy person can afford a white wolfsbane. Your sister must have offended someone so relevant in the society.” “My sister was a former Luna queen. She was the third wife of Lycan king, Dane.”

Thousands of powerful werewolves padded around the huge clearing, confused at their feelings; they had been compelled to be here, but they did not know why. Kaiden walked up the natural incline that put him in front of all of them, and silence fell at the sight of the huge Lycan King, who lifted his head, making them all take a step back at the sight of those brilliantly glowing azure eyes. Mind-linking all of them using his royal powers, he said simply. ‘The mating is complete. Meet your new Luna, the Solar Lycan Queen. I stepped forward, and the whole clearing gasped in shock.

To my surprise though, some women are as well coifed and made up as I was on the day of my mate ceremony. They’re ambitious. Hoping to become the lycan king’s Luna. I have heard rumors. Years ago, King Alexander of the lycans conquered the werewolves in a long-forgotten war and became king of these lands. The position of his Luna though has always remained vacant. It’s said that the king lost control of his wolf because he hasn’t found his true Luna. As his wolf became gradually uncontrollable, King Alexander turned into a cruel tyrant. Now no one can defeat the out-of-control lycan king.
