The cold silver reflected the dim light from the ceiling, creating a illusionary glint of impending death. Althea was very familiar with that dangerous thing. She saw first the magazine, then the barrel, the trigger then lastly, the muzzle. When the pistol was in full view, Althea’s heart raced. “Here,” the unnamed man handed her the pistol. “Use this.” Althea chocked, not knowing how to respond.
