The Monster Under The Bed Novels & Stories

Let's see if she delivers—don't disappoint me. That night, we had to pick rooms. The mages explained, "Each floor's got one bedroom. At night, a monster shows up looking like someone close to you—and lives with you. Eats with you. Sleeps with you." Living with monsters? What part of that isn't nightmare fuel? They didn't even wait. Claimed the first and second floors. Everyone else scrambled for the lowest levels. I got shoved all the way to the top. "Didn't you say your fear rating would always be zero? Since you're so tough, enjoy the 30th floor. Let's see if you're just talk."

' happy birthday to me' In the table in front of them is a cake with bloody fingerprints on it. Scraping sounds is heard and it is getting closer to where they are. It is like a monster is dragging its claws on the wall which is true as the monster appears in front of them. she says with an evil grin. "What's you doing?" he asks her. "Searching for information about monsters, did you know they live under your bed" she says making the little guy scream with fear and for her to laugh. "Hey not fair!" he says hurt, but he decided to tease her back. "It's not me who's dreaming about monsters, he lives under your bed" he says sticking his tongue out at her. Little demons under the bed. That was exactly what little Andrew hated. And there were a lot of them. “Goodnight, little one,” his father said, smiling at him. They were in his room. He wanted his dad to keep staying there, but he knew the man would leave his room soon. That was when they usually came. The monsters that shuffled around under his bed. They would play and roll about waiting for when his legs would mistakenly extend out of the bed, then they would grab his legs and pull him under.

He didn't say a word, but he put his hand on the headboard of the bed—a silent promise. "Is the monster gone?" Leo asked, looking at Silas. Silas looked at me, then down at our son. "The monsters are in cages now, Leo. And we’re the ones with the keys.

Talking made things worse. He looked at the shelf of toys. There were dolls. Cars. Animals. Monsters. He picked up a monster. It was green with big teeth. He put the monster in the hole. Then he covered it with sand. "Hiding the monster," Dr. Yuki said. "Good idea." River looked at her. She understood. You had to hide the monsters. If you didn't, they came out at night. He picked up a small doll. A boy doll. He put the boy doll on top of the sand mound. Right over the monster.

Her energy was louder than anything else in the apartment. “Seriously?” she asked. “It’s almost noon. You haven’t even moved?” “I blinked twice,” I murmured. “Oh, good. Progress.” She kicked the door shut and dropped the bag on my nightstand. “Eat. Or drink. Or both. Or I’m calling an exorcist.” She flopped onto the bed beside me without permission, which she never needed. Her scent, orange peel and expensive conditioner, spread through the room like sunlight. Too bright and real.

It happened at Nathaniel’s villa. Back then, I still had unrestricted access to any of the properties under his name. Sometime past midnight, someone came home. I didn’t remember much of what kind of drunken mess I had made. The only thing my hazy mind clung to was stopping that person from turning on the lights because I was a disaster, and I didn’t want my humiliation laid bare under the harsh glow. "Alright." There was a pause before the man finally agreed but he was terrible at comforting others—even compliments came out awkward and hesitant.

UNBROKEN Kristen woke up to the rhythmic beeping of the heart monitor beside her bed. The hospital room was cold and sterile as usual, yet somehow it felt more peaceful than the mansion she was forced to call home. Her eyes opened slowly, adjusting to the soft light filtering through the blinds. Her body still ached, but the swelling on her ankle had drastically reduced. She tried to sit up, but pain shot up her leg and into her spine, forcing a strangled gasp from her lips.

Finally, after a lifetime of silence, the footsteps turned and faded down the hall. I didn't sleep. I couldn't. The monster wasn't just under my bed anymore. He was in the hallway. He was in the dining room. And he wasn't leaving.
