Amara's voice hit her with a jolt, "Why are you looking at the new Alpha like that?!" New Alpha?! Iris's eyes widened as they dropped to the ground. She had been so obvious, the crowd had noticed. That was the New Alpha? Why was he dressed so ordinarily? Like just anyone on the street? and he was so young, younger than her even. How could someone that young be the new Alpha? What would people say about his image? Didn't he care about that?! And... even that did nothing to water down his looks; He was handsome, yes, but intimidating.

With a nod, I said, “You must be Dax.” “Yeah. How did you know?” he asked as we began to walk to the gym. Recognizing we were about to be late, I kicked it into high gear. I realized he’d just Transformed, but he was able to keep up with my shorter legs. “Because the rest of the new recruits have been here for a couple of weeks, and Aurora isn’t taking anyone else until the beginning of March—with the exception of you.”

“Is he new here?” Jessica now looked up with a small smile on her face. “Yes. He just joined some months ago.” Ben stopped walking as he now nodded his head as if he was agreeing to what Jessica said. “Yes, I am new here. I am just helping with some side projects in the operation team.” The operation team? I asked him. As I was just watching him carefully. “That department has been very quiet these days.” He chuckled and responded, “I guess that is how we like it.”

A sharp jawline and jet black hair. How could someone so handsome have only one recommendation? “VAR?” I had heard the name once, but it was only in passing. All I knew about the organization was that it was too powerful and if they recommended this Nikolai, then he was top-notch. “Tell them to come in, my break's over,” I instructed, bubbling with excitement at meeting this strange man. The next recruit came in, he had a patch on one eye and a scar on the other. “Jace? Show me what you have,” I said leaning on my seat.

He leaned in and whispered, "Beta Sirin is the top warrior in the Northern Territory. He commands the elite Spearpoint Unit. It's every combat healer's dream assignment. "So, Sheila, seize this opportunity." I took the empty bowl and extended my hand with a calm smile. "Nice to meet you. I'm Sheila Truss." Sirin blinked in surprise before bursting into laughter. He grasped my hand firmly with his uninjured arm. "Nice to meet you. I'm Sirin Webb. My Spearpoint Unit welcomes you." We stayed with Sirin's team for a full month. When we finally returned to the university, my long-silent phone buzzed the moment we arrived.

I quickly look away until they walk past us and stand in the center. “Attention everyone, Our new Alpha will be Carlos DeLuca and to link as a Pack, we will perform the traditional blood ritual as it forms a strong connection” Beta Ken informs, “Each one of you add a drop of blood in this bowl” A bowl was passed from one to another and everyone did as told. Once everyone did their turns, the bowl was given to Carlos. He didn't hesitate to make a cut on his palm but before he could mix it in the bowl, a growl cut through the thick air.

After speaking to me, the nurse probably told the others what I had said. As a result, several young nurses give weird looks at Jason and whisper. When one of them was changing Jason's bandage, she even pressed it hard on purpose. "Sorry about that," she said sarcastically. "I'm still new here, so I'm still learning to gauge my strength. But even if I'm bad at my job, at least I know what I should do and what I shouldn't."

Are you kidding me? My vision turned red and my blood boiled. How dare he lay a finger on something that belonged to me. I immediately phoned the head of security and demanded to know the traitor’s identity because I swear, I have never seen him before in my life. “Sir, he is a new recruit, joined last week. His name is Pavlov. The kid is a good driver and his people pleasing skills are also top notch” Diego summarized, like I wasn’t already aware of the last part.

A man with a glass of water walked in, and when he saw my eyes open, he gave me a good-natured smile, "You're awake?" The man had light brown hair and looked very kind, no matter what, kinder than that Miguel. "Did you save me?" I propped myself up and sat up. "Yes, I saw a red wolf fainting on the bank at the headwaters of the river, you know, red wolves are so special, so I saved you and took you back." The man sat on the edge of the bed and handed me the glass of water, "My name is Joseph, and I am the beta of MoonWar Pack Alpha. Here is your medicine, drink it down and then I will take you to Allora."
