Scales was somewhere behind the stack of iron bars, walking a new recruit through grip and release drills. The recruits had doubled in two weeks. Some young, some just broken men looking for purpose. But all of them had blood in their mouths. The kind that made them stay. The kind that made them fight. As Marta and I walked the short stretch down, I glanced through the one-way glass panel beside the main door. Catto was pulling a recruit by the collar now, shouting something about timing and discipline. The boy barely flinched. He was already becoming one of us.

He's Eros Rodriquez, the new recruit in our team.” Introducing him to the mischievous young man. Rohan watched him closely from head to toe, back. It was tall compared to him. His eyes are a bit narrow, his nose is also sharp, his lips are small like a woman, his hair is curly brown and his skin is a bit tan.

The other wears a black shirt, sleeves rolled up, face unreadable. “Who are these?” Shorts asks, his gaze lingering on Eldora for too long. It takes everything in me not to crush his skull against that metal table. “New recruits,” Tattoos grunts, sinking into a chair and rummaging through a nearby box. “Names?” the fully clothed one asks without looking up. “Le-Levine…” I stutter, letting my shoulders hunch. “I’m Nox,” Eldora says smoothly. Of all the names. The quiet man mutters something under his breath, too soft even for me to catch.

He smiled faintly and picked up his fork. “I need to go back now, Third Young Master. I was ordered to observe the new recruits,” Theo said. Ahh, that explained why he wasn’t around earlier. Watching the new recruits wouldn’t be bad. New faces around the mansion might be interesting. “I’ll come with you. Wait for me.” — Guerrero’s Gym — There were more recruits than before. Some bulky, some average, some small and some tall. Some fierce, some normal, and some clearly nervous. Normal for first-timers.

They all give me confused, vaguely suspicious looks—probably wondering why I wasn’t marched down the stairs with the rest of them. We're all wearing our training uniforms now—standard navy workout gear—and standing shoulder to shoulder like soldiers in boot camp. Director Holt steps forward, smiling with all the warmth of a banker about to foreclose. “Good morning, everyone,” he says, voice projecting easily through the room. “Let’s give a warm welcome to this year’s new recruits. I know you’ll all make them feel like valued members of our team.”

I murmured a thank you with my blistered lips and held the hand that pulled me up only for the commander to send me flying by kicking my leg hard and letting go of my hand. The loud thud made everyone cheer and clap for the commander who motioned for them to hail him more. It got dawn on me that I was now in the pit of hell, no one here is a saint or has my best interest at heart, I might not even last long here before he meets his end. “We have to make our new recruit pass through the holy bath don’t you all think?” was the next announcement from the commander which sprang up another joyful hollering from the crowd.

I refuse. Enzo wouldn't hurt anyone. He wouldn't, he couldn't. "Welcome new recruits to the Hunter's association. Welcome all to the Archane order." My uncle finishes, driving another dart into my already discombobulated psych. "We are all excited to begin your new chapter with us. " Dammit, what rabbit hole have I fallen into?

Ben asks, I nod my head looking at drake who smiles kissing me again “I don’t know who 2 of those people are but I’m happy to go home with you” I squeak jumping up and I rip Ryan into my arms and grin at drake “This is Ryan, the only reason we found you, he was a rogue at this camp but now fiona and Ben are adopting him isn’t he a cutie?” I tell drake, he chuckles putting his hand out to shake Ryan’s then I point to Lucy “And this is Brady’s mate Lucy, she’s human and she came with us so we could get past the supernatural barriers to save you, Brady is marking her soon and she will be joining our warriors”

"RECRUITS JOSEPH, JOSIAH, AARON AND COLTON STEP FORWARD AND REMAIN AT ATTENTION, EVERYONE ELSE IS DISMISSED." Recruits Joseph, Josiah and Aaron all get a warning and are demoted from patrol to packhouse duties until they can prove themselves once more. Alexander and Greta escorted recruit Colton back to the barracks, stripped of his rank and transferred back to his original pack as a low-level member. We make our way back to the office.
