I'm alone with more knowledge than I ever dreamed of having and for the first time since arriving at Nightfall Keep, I can breathe. I spend hours exploring, running my fingers along leather spines and pulling down volumes at random. There are histories of the Lycan territories, texts on magic theory, and bestiaries describing creatures I didn't know existed. On the second floor, tucked in a corner behind several other books, I find something that makes me freeze. A small leather-bound volume with no title on the spine, but when I pull it out, the cover reads in silver ink: "The Celestial Wolves: Last of the Moon Goddess's Children."

I would be good for now and then try to get away again. As he unhooked the last chain I fell forward into him. His solid arms caught me before I hit the floor but I quickly pulled away from him. I noticed the hint of a new tattoo on his arm and just shook my head in annoyance. I heard him laugh as I stomped up the stairs and to my room. The man was absolutely impossible to even like a little. I took a hot shower and then climbed into my bed. I would get away from Damion Night if it was the last thing I did.

He stood on the balcony in the cold wind all night. When he returned to the bedroom, he found that my mother had jumped out of the window. That night, it poured. The rain washed away the blood from my mother's corpse. Cade rushed over and held me tight, letting me punch him repeatedly. He kept saying, "It's okay, it's okay…" But he chose Summer as his new fling. As Mrs. Finley, what dignity do I have left? That night, Cade did not come home. The trending topic I arranged was buried deep by him.

He caressed her cheeks slowly like she would disappear if he applied pressure. He slowly moved his fingers to her lips. Her lips were pressed together in a thin line. He traced her lips with his fingers. He wanted to devour her lips but stopped himself from doing that. He wanted her wide and awake when he tongue-fucked her. “Good night, bambolotta,” he said and leaned down and placed a lingering kiss on her forehead. He turned around and exited the room, closing the door behind him. Her eyes fluttered open and the next thing she did was sneeze.

Nightingale Books has been in my family for three generations. The old Victorian that houses it has been in the family for even longer five generations of Nightingales have walked its creaking floors and ducked beneath its low-hanging doorways. I unlock the front door, the familiar scent of paper and binding glue washing over me as I step inside. Outside, the wind picks up, rattling the stained-glass transom window that casts blue and purple shadows across the worn floorboards.

DANTE I got up early, as always when I have an important assignment, at five in the morning. I never slept that much anyway, I was getting used to only sleeping four or five hours, as far as my nightmares would allow. I opened the window, felt the cold penetrating my lungs and so I cleared all the whiskey I drank the night before. Since the death of my parents my dreams turned into nightmares, making me constantly fight with my inner and outer demons that had murdered my parents.

🎀CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-ONE🎀 The sun had dipped below the horizon, leaving the world in a bone-chilling, ink-black night. Zayla sat alone on a cold stone bench, her neck tilted back as she scanned the dark sky. Faint stars were scattered across the void like spilled diamonds. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t even notice the small bird that had fluttered down to the bench beside her. "The night is breathtaking, isn't it?" a gentle voice whispered.

Rhea The room is very quiet as I stare at Selene Nightengale. I hear the sound of a clock tick and the sound of guard’s boots outside. I look at the wine glass Selene pushed toward me. It's filled with deep red wine that shines under the dim lamps. My dry throat is dry, partly from a long clinic shift and nerves of sitting across from the woman who was supposed to be the Luna of this pack.

"Have you no nonsense to say, young lady?" Richard asked as they had driven close to 30 minutes out of the town and to the lonely path where the bungalow was built. The building seemed seemed to belong to an ancient loner who had only trees, shrubs, rivers and birds as his neighbours. Richard stole a glance at the young lady who was rapt in thought. His intent gaze seemed to have drawn Sarah back to the present as she slowly replied, "None that will interest you,"

One drop of them on the haze, the whole camp could be burnt down. They don’t know yet. I was more than candle flame. I was something they never imagined. Unmerciful and revengeful. One by one, I will rip their stone hearts from their chests and fry them in oil until they become crisps. Nightbane’s would be the first. I would fry his heart for seven days and shove it up his ass. And for Nyxora? She better not lay a hand on my baby’s hair or she would experience worse. I closed the book. Come tomorrow, I would find the ingredients for breaking the bond.
