The Temporary Husband
he declares, pulling himself up, leaving me dazed.
He walks to the fridge, it’s broken like everything else in here. I watch him pull out two cans of Dr. Pepper.
“Nobody drinks the stuff you drink around here, this would do right?”
His words make me chuckle, he said them when I wasn’t feeling any of this feelings, when all of it was just appreciation of his body.
Time is such a wonderful thing.
Accepting the soda, and cracking it open, we clink our cans.
