The Billionaire's Protector

The Billionaire's Protector

People moved around them, their faces aglow with purpose and connection. Nathan observed a young man seated at a nearby bench, engrossed in a book. The title was discernible from where he stood - "Mastering Mental Resilience." Nathan exchanged a knowing smile with Miranda. They had distributed copies of the book during their event. It was a compilation of stories, experiences, and practical advice on mental wellness, created by individuals from their community center.

Let's Pretend (book 1)

Let's Pretend (book 1)

“I don’t know, however, I was told a few files were missing. Mr. Clarkston’s son is one of our fine soldiers, and good people such as the Clarkstons should be treated with more respect.” “Forgive me,” Mercedes continued, “but can you tell me what qualifies someone as good people in society’s eyes? Is it those who are wealthy? Is it those who have solid reputations? Because I, for one, have known lower-class people who are just as good, and yet they are not treated with respect.” The wealthy woman sitting next to her snickered as she toyed with her pearls. “Perhaps it’s their actions that merit other’s disapproval. I’ve noticed the lower-class are without manners.”

The Fire That Chose Me

“You shouldn’t be out here alone.” Aiden stepped out from behind a tree, his hair damp with mist, his hoodie half unzipped. Evelynn didn’t flinch. “I wasn’t alone.” He studied her in that quiet way of his the way that said he saw more than he let on. “What happened today?” he asked. “People are noticing me,” she said. “Even the ones who shouldn’t.” He nodded. “That’s how it starts.” She met his gaze. “Start of what?”

Mine to Keep

Mine to Keep

Alie The invitation says Conversation on Story: Building Worlds for Real Life which is the kind of title that makes you feel smart while you drink tea out of a paper cup and pretend the folding chair isn’t a folding chair. The bookstore is small, all honeyed wood and lamps that try to be kind. Someone strung twinkle lights between nonfiction and essays, like stars got cozy in the ceiling.

The girl said. “Same here. I actually thought that this book wasn’t popular but you’re reading it as well. Oh, I’m Kayne by the way, Kayne David.” “I’m Natsumi Koga, it’s nice to meet you!” “Ah yes, you as well. I was actually about to ask if you always come here.” Kayne asked. “Uhuh, I always go to this café every time I go to town, this is actually kind of my spot, haha.”

Light & Darkness: Book 1

Light & Darkness: Book 1

For now, she didn't even want to wonder what would happen if aunt Margareth finds out about her feelings. Selene stretched first, then slowly dragged herself off the bed, her eyes immediately fixed on the Book of Magic that was lying down on the desk, the one she had gotten from aunt Meredith yesterday. Selene took it gently in her hands and sat on the edge of the bed, setting the bulky volume on her lap, and flipped through the book several times. Afer the fourth time she stopped at a page that showed a portrait of a man with ebony, half-length hair, in a long black coat... The face itself seemed familiar at once, but when Selene saw his eyes - dark and captivating like two black holes, she

The New Age King // Book 2

The New Age King // Book 2

the Dean says politely as he shakes each of our hands. I only nod in return. I have no idea what this guy's name is, nor do I care what it is. He means nothing to me. He is here because his employer wants him to kiss my butt due to my deep pockets. He doesn't like us. He fears us. He doesn't care that I protected his people many years ago and that I would never hurt him without just reason. This is his job, and I won't stoop to fake pleasantries. "King Octavius isn't much of a talker. You can direct your questions to me, though. I love to talk," Jannah says as I openly ignore whatever the human male said after letting go of his hand.

Great quicker read overall. There were unexpected plot twists and well developed banter throughout. The author brings life to different attitudes that aren’t commonly written into novels, which I loved. My only note is that I WISH the author would write more about the lives of Sara & Tab’s pups!

Frozen Submission (M*M)Romance

The book would only bring it back into sharper focus. I took a slow breath. “Some people were scared of what they didn’t understand. Two men loving each other and playing hockey made them angry. Bad people lied about us and tried to hurt us. But a lot of good people stood up for us too. That’s why we wrote the book—so people can know the real story.” “Are you scared the mean people will come back when the book comes out?” she asked. Callan answered first. “A little. But we’re stronger now. We have each other. We have you two. And we have a lot of people who love us.”

Oh my God, this book made me flabbergasted cos the story line? Amazing. There was no way I could predict what happens next! Beginning I'm like oh good, he won, then the next the guy is getting blackmailed with a good time?! And there's even a bigger picture. This book is worth all your time.

Bro just got his first NHL shutout and instead of celebrating… he ends up on his knees calling his captain ‘Sir’ while being blackmailed with his own video. The tension in that hotel room was insane. Callan is cold as hell. This rookie is in way deeper than he thought. I’m already addicted.

She looked at the city outside the library window — the October afternoon going golden, the buildings catching the light, the ordinary vast machinery of a city full of people. "The advocacy organisation reached out to subject twenty-two," she said. "This morning. Told her the book existed and that she was in it — anonymised — and left the choice to her." "Has she responded?" "Not yet," she said. "She might not. That's all right." Julian looked at her. "Yes," he said quietly. "That's all right." They sat in the library as the afternoon went gold around them and the book spread through the world one reader at a time and the city below moved through its October day entirely itself.
