The Plight Before Christmas Book Novels & Stories

A Gift of Unexpected Support The first snow of the season fell quietly outside, covering the ground in a soft white blanket. Estonia and Travis sat by the fireplace, their living room aglow with the warmth of the crackling flames. Christmas was just around the corner, and this year, the holiday carried a deeper meaning for them. It would be their last Christmas as just the two of them; by this time next year, they would be celebrating with their daughter.

“I think I already have.” --- On Christmas morning, Katherine ran into the living room in snowflake pajamas, shouting about reindeer and crumb trails and half-eaten cookies. Sophia laughed as they unwrapped presents, warm and close, the smell of cinnamon rolls rising in the kitchen. No helicopters overhead. No lawyers on the phone. No lies waiting in the shadows. Just life. Uncomplicated. Unafraid. And as the fire crackled and the morning light poured in, Sophia leaned back on the couch, Katherine curled into her side, and whispered to herself:

Only, “With friends.” I sat in front of the big picture window in our living room with the shades open, only the light of the Christmas tree illuminating the space, and stared at the snow. It wasn’t falling, not right now, but there was plenty on the ground, and the wind would whip up from time to time and stir it, giving the illusion it was coming down again. I thought about how different things were last year. Across town, Drew Peterson’s little brothers would be going to bed soon, probably asking Santa to bring back their sister. Alice and Steve Cook had lost their only child; Christmas would never be the same for them.

My lungs burned, my legs ached and felt weak, and I could hear footsteps behind me now. Heavy, and fast. I spotted a tall building and ran behind it, hoping there might be another exit, or someone, anyone, around. As I turned the corner, I crashed straight into something solid. A hard chest. I cried out and stumbled backward, nearly falling. One of the men stood in front of me. Up close, he looked even scarier. Cold. I backed away slowly, my hands raised without thinking. “Please,” I whispered. “I don’t want any trouble, please.”

hold me, and I don't know who they are, my eyes are slowly shutting, and it was a matter of time before my whole world shuts down completely. ........ ...... .... ... .. . A/N MERRY CHRISTMAS! My head hurts. It should be Christmas time in some countries already and it'll soon be Christmas in my own side of earth. I feel exhausted like my main characters only they're unconscious at the moment and I'm yet to know who'll survive. I'm taking a break for a day cause I deserve it. This chapter's longer than my usual ones so it's your Christmas special only it's not all jolly but whatever.

CHAPTER 62 Christmas Christmas - a holiday that is celebrated on December 25 in honor of the birth of Jesus Christ or the period of time that comes before and after this holiday 62 The entire breakfast was quiet and awkward. Nick was sitting down right next to me as we sit down right across mom and Cameron while dad was on Nick's left and Ingrid was on my right. We were all eating very silently. Dad didn't say anything about what he saw last night and what Nick told him. As for Cameron, he didn't say anything about what he saw a while ago too. Everything was so weird on the table but then I liked how they didn't bother to talk about it. I liked it that neither of them wanted to start so I ig

Alexis Giddens, this time, is still looking for a job in that big city. It was quite difficult, until she always gave up on all of it. "Ah, what should I do now? There's no one I can call. I don't even know what to eat tomorrow," the girl muttered to herself. She stopped in her tracks and looked ahead. Yes, tomorrow is Christmas day. She didn't even know how she was preparing to celebrate it all. "I just hope, if I will get a decent life. I don't know when it will be, it doesn't matter," said Alexis alone, looking at the fir tree that has been decorated with lots of decorations there.

"Gift?" "Yes, a Christmas present." She answered. "And yours?" The lady asked. She shrugged. "Any plans for Christmas?" "Yes, me and my blanket, snuggling on my bed," she whispered and laughed. "Too cold outside." After buying the gift she was checking out of the shop when the owner gave her the booklet, the same one she wanted to buy, " A gift for your next novel. May you have a miraculous Christmas!" She winked.

Jordan got me a book. Outside is a mass of white ground and icy road. Inside is warm from the heater and the sheer amount of people in the house, and the Christmas tree is shining in one corner of the house. It really is a merry Christmas morning. I wonder how the others are doing.

Jax seemed happy that I was more docile. In truth I just wanted the children to have a decent holiday season. Money had been tight, and I felt bad that the children did not have a ton of gifts to open on Christmas morning. Surprisingly, they were all excited for the gifts that they did receive. Jax gave everyone the best gift of all though with Daisy
