The Plight Before Christmas Book Novels & Stories

The patio door burst open, and Chloe ran back in, covered in snowflakes, shivering but smiling. "It's beautiful! It's so sexy!" She flopped back onto the rug, grinning at us. Then she looked at the book in my lap and wrinkled her nose. "A textbook? Dad, seriously? That is literally the lamest gift in the history of Christmas." "Maya understands the value of discipline," Silas said smoothly, his eyes locked on mine. "And commitment to long-term investments." The double meaning wasn't lost on me. Heat crept up my neck.

"Tonight, you're mine. Tomorrow we'll figure out tomorrow." She nodded, not trusting her voice. He carried her back to the bed, and this time, when he pulled her against him, she let herself sink into the warmth his skin, the sheets, the soft glow of the dying fire. He pulled the duvet over them both, and she felt his arm wrap around her waist, his lips pressed to the back of her neck. The fire popped. The snow fell. Somewhere in the city, church bells began to ring, ushering in Christmas morning. She was asleep before they stopped.

When I was a little girl, I used to absolutely hate the day after Christmas. It seemed like the worst day of the year. All of the magic was gone, and we would have to wait a whole 365 days until it was Christmas again. The older I got, the less exciting Christmas became, and it didn’t really bother me that much anymore. It was just another day. However, the day after Christmas was hard for Brice since this had been the first year he’d actually gotten any presents or gotten to celebrate. He was mopey all day, even when Raven heated up the leftovers from the day before and set them out for us.

But don’t worry everything will be alright, stay positive. I am praying lord to keep you all in good health. I know this year was tough for all of us. We faced the biggest challenge ever for humankind and lost many things, yet we stood and fought hand in hand which is very brave. I hope this new year brings better days for us and wish to heal everyone’s wounds as soon as possible. I know this Christmas you all are not able to celebrate it the way you have planned at the beginning of the year and I am feeling sorry for you all. So, I came up with this Christmas Special chapter where you will get a glimpse of Christmas.

I was about to read one, 'Home coming' by Yaa Gyasi. I was a bit depressed, because the year was gradually coming to an end. Christmas was fast approaching. And I dreaded it, as misfortunes happen to me few days to Christmas. I shuddered at the fear of what might happen this time around. Last year my wedding engagement was cancelled few days to Christmas. A year ago I lost my job few days to christmas, two years ago I almost got raped few days to christmas by a thug in the car park, thank God I was saved before he penetrated into me. I marked that day as a day I won't ever forget. Three years ago I was in a coma few days to christmas because my Fiance smashed a bottle of wine on my head. My

Eleven people total, more manageable than Thanksgiving but still significant. Charlotte was vibrating with excitement. “Santa comes TONIGHT! After we sleep! Presents TOMORROW!” “Yes, but first you have to actually sleep. Santa doesn’t come until children are sleeping.” “I’ll sleep SO FAST! The fastest sleeping EVER!” James was equally excited but less articulate. “Santa! Santa coming! PRESENTS!” Dinner was lovely Catherine’s traditional Christmas Eve menu, everyone together, children behaving reasonably well given excitement levels. After dinner, Charlotte insisted on reading “The Night Before Christmas” to the whole group.

JACKSON POV “You better leave before it gets worse.” Mrs. Chen nudged at me, forcing me to drop the stacks of books I held in my hands. “What are you saying Mrs. Chen?” I looked back at her, hurt and confused, as she practically pushed me toward the door. “I promised to help out around the bookstore while you rest with your family. It’s Christmas eve after all.” “Don’t be silly,” she scolded, nodding toward the windows. Thick, heavy flakes were already pouring from the sky, coating the nearly empty streets.

I asked in surprise. “Yea, her mom, Layla, she brought Christmas here without nothing–I mean she got in a car accident and lost her memories. That is what Layla told me as she enrolled her here so we can adjust for her,” she replied that made stunned, “This is the newspaper where Christmas putted in the headline because she was hit by a truck,” she gave me the newspaper that she took inside the drawer box of her desk, “I'm glad that she survived that but the saddest part is she lost her memories.”

CHAPTER 175 Noel hugged herself in the cold. It was the week before Christmas. Christmas ornaments dominated by red and green colors filled public spaces. Pine trees with colorful decorations and starlights are a sight that New Yorkers will often see. On the way to Jason's house, the body of the mysterious man is found in the river, Nicholas and Noel are lost in their own thoughts. Along the way, many people began to arrive at the accessory shops. They seemed to be busy looking for tools and gifts for Christmas, making Noel's heart who really wanted to experience Christmas a little sad.

She even made me wear long heels. It was dark inside. The flickering Christmas lights only did little to illuminate the space. It was cold too. Too cold, but nobody seemed to care. My eyes fell on the giant Christmas tree by the door. For the first time in my life, the sight of a Christmas tree tugged at my guilt. I was still staring at its bright colored red and green ribbons when someone suddenly grabbed it, yanking it off its stand. Then two n***d sweaty bodies came crashing against the glass door.
