I cocked my head in anger. “She, is right here and she isn’t some 12th century slave. What is your problem? Both of you?” They both looked unfazed by my outburst and it made me wonder just how many people they’d held prisoner. Maybe I needed to be gentler in making my requests, seeing as they were the one’s paying for it. “I came here with nothing but the clothes I was taken in and the flipflops you removed from Fibonacci…” I mentally shivered at the thought, I still had nightmares about it.

the officer spits, his voice disdainful. I push myself up from the cot, my legs pulsating from the long hours of inactivity. My movement hesitant as I follow the officer through the maze of prison corridors. The air is thick with the scent of sweat, desperation, and despair. Every step I take is a reminder of my captivity, a descent into the murky depths of this living nightmare. Ten other inmates were already there, all women, all naked except for their harnesses. The guard in charge, a burly man named Officer Reed, barked orders. “Pair up and get to work.
