The Queen's Garden Novels & Stories

Following Heather Quelch and Carson Yorke, Tyr Summers and his friends walked all the way to the innermost part of King Quelch’s royal residence. There was a man-made garden within the estate, where all kinds of precious flowers and plants had been planted. Even though it was summer, some of the flowers were still in full bloom. Moreover, Tyr had never seen many of these flowers before. There was a pavilion in the centre of the garden. The sun was shining brightly, but there was a refreshing breeze blowing towards the pavilion.

For Elizabeth, that night was a game-changer. The corridors were empty as Elizabeth strolled around with Anaj tailing her from behind. The garden was blooming with fine emerald leaves, and white roses. Her mother, the Queen, has always been fond of white roses. Behind the bushes, across the corridor, was Penelophe plucking a few weeds off the ornaments. "Penelophe..." Elizabeth called on her. "Elizabeth, my dear princess. What brought you to the garden?" Penelophe asked, her eyes observing the cleavage that popped out of Elizabeth's tight, pastel-blue gown.

"I'll lead the way." In silence, we walked out of the front wings of the manor and headed to the central garden. Once we finally reached the gate, I greeted the guards on duty there before we walked down the stairs, to the dark alley of the Olcan dungeon lighted by electricity. Of course, we weren't really that ancient. As I'd said before, the whole territory was renovated. It was still early in the morning but I haven't sleep yet since yesterday. The cold air of the pre-winter weather matched with my tense body, beating the warmth of my skin.

She took hers and took her time taking in its refreshing scent before she took a sip.

It was pretty sunny at that time of the day now, she found herself a hat in her suitcase, putting it on before taking one last look in the mirror and turning the door handle open, skipping down the hallway and down the stairs, reluctantly finding the garden for the ice queen's picnic. She found the garden quite easily, almost everyone was already there, except Luca and his father. Sensing our presence she whipped her whole body around and from the flicker of her nose I knew she smelled me. “Young lady you’re supposed to be resting.” She rushed to my side and the maid back away. The Queen took my hand and gently turned my body to face the direction in which we came.

Long live the Queen. The carriage halted at the open gates of the estate. The gardens seemed brighter this morning. I could make out the sound of classical music coming from a distance, mixing with the happy chirps of the birds flitting around.
