Her skin was impossibly soft under my touch, and everywhere we connected, those sparks ignited—tiny electric pulses that danced across my fingertips and sank into my bones. "I'm happy with this," I murmured against the top of her hair. "With us. With our pairing. Whatever happens next, whatever comes at us—we face it together." I let my palm settle between her shoulder blades, feeling her heartbeat through her skin. "You understand me?"

All of them were the living memory of what this pack is. The space between the moons. She had read about it in the first notebook, the first year Ivory Voss was in the territory. The space between the moons is not nothing. It is, in fact, where we live. She had read it many times. She understood it now in the way she understood things that had been true before she named them. The space between the moons was not the dramatic arc. The space between the moons was not the peak of the thing or the arrival of the thing or the naming of the thing.

RED POV The space between has its own fucking texture. I've been learning it for ten days straight. Ten days since the night I went to his room and the morning after when I sat on my bed telling myself to get my shit together and the evening he stood in my doorway saying my name like it was something sacred before walking away. Ten days of this space between—not pushing, not pulling back, neither of us naming what the fuck is happening between us or what it means to move through it together.

The space between us was no longer just physical—it was everything. And I wasn’t sure how, or if, we could ever bridge the gap.

Everything was fading. not breaking. not collapsing. but fading. like it had never existed. like it was being unmade. zayden’s hand in mine slipping. not because he let go. not because I did. because the space between us was disappearing. “Aria!” His voice broke through. faint. distant. like it was already too late. “No.”

Sarah rolled her eyes. "Alright, I will work on it," Daniel frowned. Sarah raised an eyebrow questioningly. "Do you feel uncomfortable being too close to him?" "No..." In fact, occasionally it was the other way around. He would often find himself accidentally standing way too close to Nathan before he became aware of their position and pulled himself back. He was overly comfortable around Nathan, who attracted him like a magnet, and he did not want to be that creep who had no sense of personal space and hovered over people threateningly. He was worried Nathan would be uncomfortable around him. Daniel sighed. "Then, I will discuss it with him."

“Now it's just the two of us.” Clarissa smiled seductively and plopped down on the soft sofa in the library, then crossed her legs defiantly. “Sit down, Aaron, it's strange that we're talking so far apart,” she invited him who had been standing while leaning on his desk at the end of the room. Aaron's face was cold, not responding to Clarissa's invitation. “Why are you here, Clare, what's your goal?” “Can I not? I miss you, Aaron, miss our times together.”
