The Trouble With Peace Novels & Stories

It felt like my entire life was a truckload of trouble, and every single time one trouble seemed to lead into a bigger one. However, when my mind slowly began to settle and I thought about the present, I could only wish that this peace for a moment would last. With only a wish that the people would find peace, at least for a long time, enough to heal from all the experiences and trauma that they had while Ryan was away from the pack.

I was an idiot for thinking I was enough for this. The fear dissipated and was replaced with something new. I couldn’t put my finger on it. Then it hit me, was this peace? Was I at peace with dying? Life could be cruel and messy; no one got out unscathed. Everyone had their own traumas and demons. Life was more than that; there was warmth, friendship, and love. Why was I okay with letting go and giving in?

“That’s the sound of a woman you shouldn’t have tested.” I’m not naive. Peace is a receipt with no zeros. But it’s still a receipt, and I plan to keep it.

He took in a deep breath and then continued, "I do not want to hash up old grievances but to prevent new ones from surfacing. We can only do that if we allow peace to reign between us." "Peace?" Travis repeated, his lips curling into a half-smile and a voice laced with amusement, yet his eyes told of a silent, contained fury, "You dare speak of peace after years of loss, bloodshed and betrayal. You have shed blood all over my land, killed countless innocent yet you expect me to just retract my claws and forget it all?"

GINEVRA I had never imagined the level of difficulty to be faced with whilst initiating peace after trouble had been stirred up. In the underworld, trouble was easy, but peace and settlement were the most prominent stumbling blocks ever to be faced. That was the reason a lot of families fell out a lot of times and made sure to burn themselves to the ground. There was no room for peace. That was beginning to seem like my case with the Sanchez’s. A meeting that was held and concluded in less than an hour, a meeting that a few words were said, a meeting that held a lot of unforeseen promises, a meeting that was merely two individuals of the same age group stroking each other’s ego—in a bad way.

I try to convince my feet to move while assuring myself last night was a one time incident. I walk smartly making my way to the door of class 5 and I hear the voice of the professor inside. Shit I was late. I took a deep breath before opening the door. “That was how the dragons came to…..” the professor pauses when he hears the door open. “I don't tolerate late coming” he sighed tiredly, placing his book on the table, his eyes yet to meet mine. “I'm sorry sir” I began to apologise and he turned to look at me, about to say something but he stopped.

Vincenzo's POV: I woke up with a sharp pain in my head which indicated the same thing again and again and that is nothing but she is not with me. In the past two years, I used to wake up with the same pain and I can't find peace anywhere. I can't sleep peacefully, or eat without choking for once. When she was with me, she took care of me like a mother taking care of her child, I had those all, I was at peace but now, there is not even a single soul to take care of me.

Zane was enraged and walked toward Clarisse and pushed her to face him, while he puts his right hand up, ready to deliver a big blow. “Huelo!” and Zane’s hand becomes a huge block of frozen ice, and he drops his fist violently. “Stop it! This wouldn’t solve the problem. Let Clarisse explain her case,” Lucia forced Zane. Zane calms down immediately, “I don’t want her explanation, I’ve made up my mind. And I would not apologize, it’s not my fault.” Clarisse looks at Zane menacingly, “I just happen to pass by. I saw Lucia in trouble, it’s not bad to help a friend.” she bluntly said.

“You didn’t…” He met my eyes, his voice low but steady. “Because I’m done.” Tears burned my eyes, but I smiled through them. “Thank you.” He kissed me fiercely, his hand cradling my face. “You’re the only fight I’ll ever take again.” That night, curled in his arms, I realized something. Peace wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t clean or easy or simple. It was messy, fragile, full of cracks that could split open at any time.

Elle était toujours tourmenté par cette parole et n'ayant même plus pour idée de prier.
