He was impressed, everything that he wrote was correct — not a doubt! "Ah, that! I…learnt…I taught myself. It s-seemed easy to do…instead!" Nervously rubbing his palms against each other, Travis exhaled a trembling giggle that was filled with words that had a rhythm of uncertainty. "Oh well, this method is indeed easier than mine. It's short and not complicated…plus, you are welcome to do it in a way you understand it — just don't forget the steps!" David breathed with a smile that unconsciously to the owner, spread across his features.

I began, my voice trailing off as I tried to find the right words without sounding rude. Tutor Dew tilted his head slightly, still smiling. “What’s wrong? Is it hard?” I clenched my jaw and gritted my teeth. He chuckled softly. “That’s fine. We’ll go at your pace. The idea is to start simple and make sure you’re comfortable with the basics before moving on.” Comfortable? Ha! Comfortable was the last thing I felt. I wanted to scream. Start simple? This was an insult to my intelligence. I could do college-level calculus in my past life, and here I was staring at questions meant for six-year-olds.

He shrugged nonchalantly before his lips quirked up into a smirk. I rolled my eyes at his unnecessary egotistical statement. I bit my lower lip to stop myself from smiling when he winked at me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later on that day, I searched for some tango videos for beginners on the web when I was done with my home works. I found several but they all seemed confusingly difficult. I tried practicing while following along the steps the woman demonstrated in the video but it was hard to get the steps. “Looks like you’re having a fun time practicing.” Ryder observed.

I adjusted again. This time. more deliberate. A sharper contrast. A clearer distinction. Not aggressive. but undeniable. And the ripple spread further. Two patterns now. Then three. Small deviations. Tiny differences reappearing. My chest tightened. “It’s working.” “Yes.” “But slowly.” “Yes.” That didn’t matter. Speed wasn’t the goal. Balance was. I stayed at the edge. Careful not to go too deep. Because I could feel it now. the pull. The simplicity. The ease of becoming like it.
