he stammered. “Get him whatever he needs,” Damien ordered. Drake’s fingers moved in a blur across his laptop. Lines of code scrolled down the screen in a green cascade. “Give me a second… I’m looking for the tower handoff,” he muttered. Damien loomed over him, his jaw throbbing. “You have thirty seconds.” Aiden lay on the bed, every distant noise sounding like a thunderclap. He forced himself to breathe, mapping the path they’d taken in his mind.

He helped her up, his touch lingering on her waist—a small, grounding gesture of affection that was the only light in her darkening mind. As they crossed the border into the Great Plains, the landscape changed. The trees gave way to rolling hills of golden wheat that had gone to seed. In the distance, one of the Silent Spires (the deactivated Architect towers) rose from the earth like a jagged, white tooth. As they approached a small town at the base of the Spire, they heard a rhythmic, melodic chanting.

From the underground hangars, Aurora’s father’s hidden war towers shifted, creaking, lights blazing, energy thrumming through the estate’s veins. Each tower rotated, a mechanical sentinel, scanning, targeting, calculating.

Wind howled though the dungeon and I shivered. Pain dully thumped inside my heart. I knew what he was doing. I knew who he was with, but I couldn’t stop myself from seeing. I had to confront him this time. I slowly approached a door. I could feel his presence behind it. I could hear their low murmurs. Edging closer I pressed my ear to the door to listen.

"Today, the High King will make our marriage official. Remember what I told you before." His voice was like ice. "After we're married, we'll live separate lives. Play nice, and maybe I'll let you save some dignity in this marriage." I was floored. How could the heir to our kind say something so outrageous? He took my silence for consent, his grin growing wider. "Just keep in line, and I won't let you embarrass yourself in public." He was sure I would fall in line. Then came the sound of footsteps. The High King's right-hand man, his second-in-command, stepped out—with Damon, the werewolf, in tow.

*ARIELLE’s POV** The North Tower had gone from a sanctuary to a tomb in the span of an hour. I stood in the center of the library, the glow of six different computer monitors casting a sickly, pale light over my skin. My hands were shaking so violently I had to grip the edge of the mahogany desk just to keep from collapsing. Below, in the bowels of the estate, I could hear the sounds of a nightmare: the splintering of wood, the roar of a beast that had forgotten its name, and the terrified shouts of guards who didn’t know whether to protect their Alpha or run from him.

S Baron Legro recently brought a new collections of Evil Tomes, though I can't use magic, I'm kinda interested of reading stuff like that. "Well this was surprising…for a Baron, his collections were quite good….T.A.S, Scan the whole room…". The library/home office was located at the end of left wing of the mansion, the whole room was quite big, It took half of the left wing building itself. Tall grand bookshelf, lavish enchanted magic chandelier, expensive fur rugs. It was an amazing room.
