A muscle in my jaw twitched and I forced down the urge to scream out or punch something. "It’s complicated." I said instead. "Complicated how?" I hesitated wondering if I should confide in him but what part of the story was important, that my mate was human or she didn’t want me but before I could speak, the doors burst open. I finally admitted, and he just stared at me blankly for a while, and tightened his fist before walking out of there. He ignored her statement. “Please all of you gather around and sit.” They all looked confused and were unsure what to do as they eyed the High Priestess who eventually nodded for them to comply.
