Novel & Cerita The Underground Man Novel

He yanked at it and suddenly the ground began to shake before it literally sank in towards the end, slanting it down completely and revealing a flight of stairs which led further underground. Dante held out a hand for me and I took it hesitantly before I followed him downstairs. There was no scent of dust or mildew like I’d expected. In fact, the further down we went, the more my nose began to pick up on the scent of paraffin. When we finally reached the bottom of the stairs I realised the source of the scent, paraffin lamps which lit up the entire underground room dimly. The place was filled with people, and I was almost certain that all of them were human. Right in the centre, standing on

I wonder what he was planning to show me in there. He raised the carpet and lo and behold, there was what looked like a door underground there. He opened it and led the way. I was afraid, I won’t lie but I tried to convince myself that my grandmother wouldn’t hurt me. The road underground was dark and quiet but when we got to the main place, Tom turned on the lights. It all made sense now. It was a whole new world underground. There were servers and several computers and people operating them. There were chatters and whispers among those people, male and female alike.

They were vicious and filled the hearts of other wolf packs with fear. They were worshipped like gods and manipulated other wolves to do their bindings, they formed the association of the underworld, distinguishing the wolves from the humans, it was treacherous to have anything to do with the humans and it could cause a death sentence on anyone caught with a human. Great Lycan Silva was the first Lycan to be born and his birth was to be a salvation to all of the underworld… or not.

Flynn ordered curtly. "Mr. Flynn, please reconsider!" Armand looked serious as he added, "The Penhams in the Holy Gr—" "I said open the doors!" Flynn interrupted icily. Armand sighed heavily and did as told. He opened the main doors of the underground prison. As the reinforced metal doors—at least a foot thick—swung open, the dust and soil accumulated over many years fell down. A pungent smell rose immediately from the underground prison. By the pale moonlight, Nexon and Avery could faintly see that there was a man in the pitch-black underground prison.

The moment we stepped through, the stone crawled back up the earthen walls, resealing the doorway. Azrael had been right when he said the underground was a mix between a brothel and a mortal nightclub. Orbs of light, flashing in an array of colors, bounced above the heads of the crowd. The music, almost gothic in nature, was crafted by a mix of instruments and magic. The Underground was comprised of two floors. On the lower half sat a large bar and a dance floor. Forming along the walls were padded booths with circular tables, and entire day beds topped with silk blankets and pillows.

Delaney "What do you think?" Paola asks in my ear. "Pretty cool, huh?" I have no words for the scene in front of me. When we were walking through the tunnel to get here, I had no idea what to expect. I certainly didn't know that we would be walking into a whole city built under the one I grew up in. No wonder they call it the Underworld.

he growled, ripping it off from his ear. The signal had cut the moment she descended. “Communication might not work underground,” Asher said flatly, breath tight, “That elevator, it didn’t go up. It went down.” Finn frowned, “That meant…” All of us stared at each other for a long moment. “Underground…” I realized as I glanced down at my feet feeling something for the slightest moment. This wasn’t just a brothel. It was more like a fortress. A fortress of flesh, secrets, and goddamn horror buried beneath our feet.

The steel presses into my skin, a silent reminder of the kind of man I swore I’d never be again. But Mikhail has a way of dragging old ghosts out of their graves. The streets above were still pulsing when I reached the edge of the lower district, the part of Manhattan no one talks about, where the city’s veins run black. The regulars call it “The Underside.” It’s where deals are made that never reach the boardrooms, where debtors disappear, and where men like Mikhail reign like gods. I parked in an alley that smelled of rust and rain-soaked garbage.

Beneath us, through the rusted grate of the drainage pipe, I could hear the faint, steady hum of the low-frequency municipal water lines—the underground network Julian had promised to hijack. I turned the page of my notebook, my charcoal stick digging so hard into the linen fibers that it left a deep, silver-rimmed indentation: We are under the needle, Julian. The sixth edition is already in the market stalls, and the seventh press has just breached the grid. Let's tap the line.

Sera only smiled like that before terrible decisions. ****** The underground armoury buzzed with movement around them. Weapons clattered against metal tables. Hunters checked UV cartridges and silver ammunition beneath flickering fluorescent lights. Steam hissed from old pipes lining the concrete ceiling. Zelios smelled like metal, smoke, and overcrowded humanity. The city had once been an underground railway network before the apocalypse turned sunlight lethal. Now, thousands lived crammed beneath reinforced steel ceilings lined with flickering UV lamps. No windows. No sky. Just artificial light and survival.
