Angelina's POV - It's the season of winter and snowfall isn't a exception. I actually love snowfall but sometimes I also hate it, like now because I have to clear all the snow from the front door. This is the story of every winter where my parents never help me out, its just that they order me to clean it up.

“Have a seat, Leilah.” Colby assisted me in the seat in front of this Blake guy while he took the seat beside him. There were folders on the table and Blake is drinking wine. “Leilah, this is my adoptive brother, Blake Valentino. Blake, this is my biological sister, Leilah Rivera.” Colby introduced us. In my right hand, a very expensive bottle of champagne, his favourite as well, which, I chuckled to myself, left me a little broke. I walked down the hallway of Montague tech, and then pressed the elevator button that would take me to the floor of my boyfriend's office. Today was Valentine's Day and I was going to propose to my boyfriend of three years. I know he was the one that was traditionally meant to propose to me, but he was pretty indecisive, and we had soulmate energy. Why wait any longer when we could tie the knot now? And knowing him, he'd be appreciative that I actually put my foot first, he'd say yes. We were too good together. I could feel it in my bones.

“Unless someone… rewrote the rules.” And that’s when they heard it—a low hiss, like a serpent slithering across marble. From the shadows near the sanctum’s core, a figure emerged. Not just a shadow, but a face Althea hadn’t seen in years. Her mother. Or rather, what used to be her.
