Iris’s POV Well, isn't this just great? I remember my father rushing us over here thinking that we were late, but it seemed like we were early instead. The groom was nowhere to be found and so was his father. My father panicked thinking that the wedding was called off. He tried to call James Harrison, but he didn't pick up his phone. The situation seemed hopeless because we couldn't find out anything from anyone. That was until James's sidepiece came along with her annoying voice. My father leaped from his chair at the sight of her. I rolled my eyes and remained seated. I honestly wanted to be anywhere else but here.

But she carefully stored all her equipment and supplies in what appeared to be custom storage containers. Gabby couldn’t do more than block windows and the section of the back garden from the guests as there wasn’t time to cancel bookings and she wouldn’t evict guests in the middle of their stay. They’d been warned of the haunted nature and odd happenings. This was just another odd happening. Or at least that’s how she instructed Jody to explain it. The guests didn’t need to know exactly what was happening in the back garden on a cold winter evening.

The loudspeaker crackled sharply overhead. [Good morning, guests.] Winona jolted awake instantly. [Last night, one participant violated hotel rules.] A brief pause followed. Then the voice smiled. She cannot see the face, but she can feel their expression. [One guest is now dead.]

I might have to go see for myself. It has been thirty minutes since Fred took the guest on a tour and I haven’t heard from him. They should have been done by now and he should have checked in with me. “ Fred report,” I say into the walkie. “ Keeping an eye on our new guest. She has many admirers but hasn’t bitten yet. So I’m keeping near in case she needs help.” I decided to go down to see the new guest, curious as to why she is getting so much attention. When I get downstairs I notice the music is different from what the D.J. usually plays. It is some salsa mix I think, but it has my eyes drawn to the dance floor. I see Fred and two other bouncers at the edge of the floor. What is going on

strained to get my eyes open because of the Ray of sunlight peeping through the blinds. Holy shit! I cursed and flicked my eyes open looking all over the unfamiliar room I am in. I tried to get up but a strong muscular arms wrapped around my waist and we were completely naked. What the hell am I doing In a stranger's bed?

I said. We descended the staircase and landed on the ground floor. "We need to leave now," he whispered urgently in my ears. "OK," I responded, agreeing to his decision. Suddenly, a loud male voice rang in the air through the sound system. "Attention everyone, intruders detected! I would like to welcome two guests to the house. I'm surprised that they boldly gate crashed into our exclusive party where no outsiders are allowed," the announcer said. I gasped in shock. Oh, no! Our presence was already discovered by the vampires!

I concentrate on the side with guests. “And now, I invite her to address you all.” He says as he turns to me. But my eyes are fixed elsewhere in the crowd. I can't believe what I am seeing. I thought Eric was the only uninvited guest tonight. Deep into the crowd, there is a guest who has evidently gatecrashed into the event, and I am now certain that trouble will erupt.

That morning, I intended to head to the library downstairs to find some peace. However, I froze at the top of the stairs when I saw a line of black SUVs parked in front of the lobby. The doors flew open, and several men stepped out wearing suits that were far too sharp for a casual visit. Perfect. The guests had arrived while Mommy was out of the house. Had they forgotten I was here, or did they simply not care? I hid behind a pillar on the second floor, peering down into the vast living room below. Victor and Adrian stood there, welcoming the guests. The atmosphere was so rigid that the very air seemed to freeze.

THE UNSEEN HUSBAND Sebastian found the journal by accident. It was three days after the confrontation with Helena, and he'd been looking for a book to read to the children before bed. Alessia had mentioned keeping some books in the chest by the window, so he'd opened it without thinking. Inside, beneath a few worn volumes, was a leather-bound journal. He almost closed the chest immediately—it was clearly private, clearly Alessia's—but the page it was open to caught his eye. Not because of nosiness, but because of the handwriting. The same careful script from the letters Helena had intercepted, but this time formed into poetry.
