Seth looked up at me, "Kennedy, I'm here cause I want you back." I shook my head, "that's not going to happen. I don't ever see that happening again." Even as the words spilled out of my mouth I wanted him. I wanted him to hold me and tell me everything would be ok, but I was tired of his lies and broken promises. I didn't know if I could handle being hurt by him again. I was barely holding myself together after our last disaster. Seth took a bite of his food, "ok, well what if we start over."

The memoir she once swore she’d never write. Each keystroke was a heartbeat. Each sentence, a reclaiming. They said silence was survival. But silence was the weapon that killed me the slowest. In the books she once read, pages softened by another woman’s hands. I dug deeper. Drawers, cabinets, boxes tucked beneath the bed. Receipts, letters, fragments. Either way, promises were made because it's meant and intended to be done but against this world, breaking such thing is inevitable. So breaking me was your intention? W-What? Nothing.
