I’m suddenly standing on polished black stone that mirrors a swirling violet-and-black sky. It’s suddenly so cold, cutting straight through my jacket. “Well, well… a lost little bird.” The voice is low, smoky, and sounds very dangerous. I whirl around and nearly fall. He’s leaning against a throne of twisted black iron. Wren. I've heard tales about him, I know exactly what he is: the Unseelie Prince.

Those clever little spies with their pointed ears and glittering, too-bright eyes would be forced to choose a single location, but they would remain oblivious as to whether they had selected the correct one. Caution would be my closest companion now. The Seelie Queen's edict of exile from Elphame carried a simple penalty for return: death. My summons back meant little if it hadn't reached every guard and gatekeeper, this journey could be walking straight into a noose. Lane and I had played this game before, of course. We'd slipped across borders like shadows, particularly into UnSeelie territory. My friend, Artemus, the UnSeelie Prince, was always happy to see

Blue then stick her tongue out at Keisuke and he shakes his head in disapproval. "It's dark soon, Lady Amore. You know how the crown prince dislikes the little ones outside when the sky is painted dark." "Hmm... understandable." "But why?" Blue asked. "Why does the crown prince forbids them?" "It's likely because the little ones are tastier plus they are not cautious enough," Lady Amore replied. "She means the deformed demon and if you didn't know, humans— hunters specifically takes little demons and cross them through borders. Some humans make them fight each other with bets."

My hand reaches out to offer comfort as I grab hold of his knee tightly, drawing his attention away from his parents. After Eve has calmed her nerves, she sits herself up straight in her seat and looks over to me before speaking. “Prince Kieran is the most ruthless Unseelie there ever has been, even more so than his mother or father. He is the real reason behind the Fae Realm being locked away when he tried to wage war against all of the Realms and created a lot of havoc.”

I asked him, and his jaw locked, as he thought about what words he was going to use. "The Unseelie Fae are the things of nightmares. Their nature is dark, and twisted; and it's not only to balance out the Seelie Fae. Sure, Queen Calandra is eccentric, and her punishings are harsh, but everyone would rather be taken in by her majesty than his. The Unseelie Fae are mixed in with more demon blood, whilst the Seelie Fae have more angelic. Another reasoning why they're so different, but one cannot exist without the other. They balance each other out." he finished, and he patted my shoulders, before letting me go.

“Ilvisar. The awful Yirri Spiders live in the mountains surrounding the Unseelie Court. They kill anyone who is stupid enough to cross those mountains.” Scar drank from his waterskin. “If the little Unseelie Princess disappeared, that means someone found a way around the Yirri Spiders. With a bit of luck, we will find not only the princess but also a safe path to the Unseelie Court.” He took another sip from his waterskin. “Or we can go to the Draco Empire on the Bayin Continent and hunt hydras.” Nixx snorted. “You do realize hydras have three heads? Not to mention hydras’ tails end up with spikes. Poisonous spikes.”

"However, in your case, I can understand the estrangement. Siblings should not keep secrets from each other, and Rhychard has kept quite a few from you. He judges you, and yet, he has killed friends of mine with no remorse." Karl's eyes went wide. "No way! If my brother is anything, it's a sanctimonious, righteous do-gooder." "And yet, he has killed and will again. It's part of his secret and the reason you are here." Bertram sipped his bourbon. When he finished, he gestured to his sister with the hand holding the glass. "There are many races, such as Alana. Humans have always left them in the world of fantasy fiction, but I assure you, they are quite real. The dark elves who brought you her

The room seemed to spin around me and I raised one hand to clutch Mami’s skirt tightly. “What is she talking about?" Tears I didn’t realize I was holding leaked from my eyes. “Your majesty, please reconsider,” Mami begged. “You can’t seriously want to wed her to that cretin. Selena has bright blue eyes! Ringed with gold. If she were a man, she would be a lycan, and now you want to marry her off to that black-eyed monster?!” “He’s a prince! A more eligible match than the Beta she tried to marry."
