By the time Wendy lay there, looking more dead than alive while crumpled in the corner and begging for Poppy's forgiveness, I still felt unsatisfied. I kicked her a few times and stuck chewing gum into her hair, which she so highly valued. Finally, she gasped for air and fainted in my room.
Disgusted, I took a few deep breaths before hoisting her out and throwing her outside. The rain washed over her body as she lay there, a fish out of water, and I felt a twisted pleasure at the sight.
