“Enough. It’s time to put you in your place my young bride.” I didn’t know what that meant, but I knew it wasn’t good. I inched my way to the window. I took my eyes off him for only a second to assess my chances of escaping through it when he grabbed me with lightning speed and pulled me to him. His grip was so strong and firm I couldn’t help thinking how foolish I was to imagine I could ever escape him. “Your mother promised you for my vampire bride. It’s time you make good on that promise,” he said just before sinking his strong white fangs deep into my neck.

The hallway went utterly still. Morgan's hand hung in the air, papers extended. Adrian didn't take them. He stood there, staring at the divorce agreement, and his eyes turned cold. That chill — the kind only a vampire could produce — radiated from him in waves, pressing down on the air around us. "Emily just gave birth." His voice was low. "This isn't the time." Morgan didn't waver. "On the contrary. Now is exactly the time."

He replied casually and left. I was left in shock after hearing what the vampire just told me. Sure, he mentioned me being his bride from the other side. But I didn't expect that the wedding would happen right away. I just woke up from traveling with the other side and drinking blood for the first time. It looks like I don't have a choice but to wear this white dress since I'm at the mercy of that vampire. So I take off my clothes and change into a bridal dress. It's a perfect fit and I bet it looks good on me. So I look for a mirror but I don't see any inside this room.

I stroked his head and it's eyes closed, purring away. “That's Elisabeta.” Michael said as he gave me the glass of liquor and I let out a snort, laughing at the name. Elisabeta was Dracula's wife before he was turned into a vampire in the book. He sat down on the other couch opposite of me and eyed me curiously. “What do you want with me?” I blurted out and I hurriedly took a gulp from my drink. The liquor burned my throat and I let out a cough after swallowing the big gulp, tears stinging my eyes. After waiting for my cough fit to end, Michael finally spoke. “This is not the life I wanted for you, Beatrice.”

"We are mated to each other, alright? You have become my bride since we met." "Yes…" "What is her name?" "Huh?" Luna asked, acting confused. "You know what I am talking about. What is her name?" Luna lowered her eyes. "Alexa. Her name is Alexa." "Good," he said. "About being your bride, I haven’t even thought about it." Luna said, her heart racing. Being the bride of a vampire and the bride of a werewolf at the same time was going to be hard. She had accepted Adrian, and there was no way she was going to accept Ashford too. It was going to be hard trying to keep up with two personalities.

“She didn’t suffer any ill effects?” “Just the usual for a new vampire.” The old vampire nodded slowly. “I am given to understand that she is your first bride?” “Yes.” “How old are you?” “Six hundred and thirty four.” “Strange. I have never met a vampire that didn’t visit the curse upon another. I myself have over a hundred brides and three hundred sons. I lost track, of course, but they’re all special to me.”
