As the sun began to rise over the Dallas skyline, painting the clouds in hues of bruised purple and gold, the group stayed. They didn't leave for their five-star hotels or their private resorts. They didn't check their emails or take business calls. They stayed in that waiting room, drinking bitter hospital coffee and leaning on one another.

Family waiting room. The room was sterile and impersonal—uncomfortable plastic chairs, old magazines on the table, a TV showing news at low volume. Daniel sat in a chair near the window and stared outside with unfocused eyes. Two hours. Three hours. Time passed torturously slowly. Every minute felt like eternity. Daniel wasn't used to waiting. Wasn't used to being out of control. Wasn't used to not knowing what was happening with Alina. Finally, after almost three hours, the waiting room door opened.

And what it would mean when there were no more steps left to delay anything. We were told to wait. So we did. The waiting room was quiet and too neat. The kind of place where people didn’t come to relax—they came to find answers they weren’t ready for. I sat on one of the chairs, my hands folded tightly in my lap now instead of resting on my stomach. I didn’t know when I had moved them, but I had. Clara sat beside me. Maya stood near the wall, arms crossed. Daniel sat slightly apart, but his eyes kept coming back to me.

“Bleiz, by the time you see this letter, I will have already left. As for where I went, I don’t know either, but you won’t find me. As for why I left, the reason is simple: I don’t want to wait anymore.” “I don’t understand. How much longer do I have to wait for you to take me away? Will you one day lie to me and say that I have to wait for your and Mona’s child to grow up, get married, and have children, or wait until you’ve grown old with her before you leave with me?” “Bleiz, my youth is also limited. Leaving me standing there, alone. “Come.” Nina said to me as we walked inside. She took me pasted the waiting room and into a second waiting room that was just past the double doors. No one else was in here. “This is the wolves’ waiting room.” Nina sat down as she fumbled with her hands. Pacing around the room was the only thing I could think of. It kept me moving and not going crazy. What I wanted to do was punch every single photo of a smiling couple and kick the magazines.

I should have known better. As Rafe and Edie sign us in, my gaze wanders over the people in the waiting room. In one corner, a woman knits while two small children play with a plastic puzzle at her feet. Several chairs away, an elderly couple sits hand-in-hand, the man looking on the verge of tears. Against the far wall, another man sits with his cap pulled down over his eyes and his shirt collar popped up. He looks like he wants to sink right into the wall.

Darla’s POV The waiting room wasn’t fancy. It was just clean, quiet, and cold. With simple gray walls, a humming coffee machine, and not a single distraction. It wasn’t meant to comfort. It was meant to prepare. I sat perfectly still. No glam. No distraction. Just me in a black turtleneck, pressed pants and my hair tied back. I wasn’t here to soften anything. An assistant popped her head in. “We’re ready for you.”

I'd rather know then be given the element of surprise, where I never gave myself time to prepare. In this wait of mine, I hold on to all hope I have in me, to not surround myself with doubt and believe that one day, shall come. The opening of the front door, has me perking up to look towards the living room entrance, awaiting him to pass by. His footsteps sound along the tiled floor, nearing to the living room until I see him about to pass the living room and head towards the stairs. Before I can say anything, I notice him stop in his tracks and turn his head to look towards me.

When the waiter came,he discussed something with him. "0kay,Sir.Your job will be done."The waiter assured him with a positive smile . Abhinav nodded ,a huge smile on his face too. Amaira staring outside through the window while waiting for Abhinav. All of a sudden,all the lights became dim ,music changed into a romantic one.Amaira got astonished at sudden changed of environment and gazed around with amusement. Just then she heard a familiar voice on the mike. "People say'Waiting is a waste of time.Sometime it's not a waste of time , especially if the thing you're waiting for is worth it."the voice said.

"The Director will see you soon." Julian looked into the room. It was empty. The walls were white. The floor was white. There was no window. The only furniture was a low bench bolted to the floor. It looked like a bed in a hospital, but it had no sheets. Just hard white material. "Is this a cell?" Julian asked. "It is a waiting room," Doctor Kross said. She pushed them inside. "Do not touch the walls. They are clean." The door slid shut behind them. The lock made a heavy sound. *Clunk.*
