"What do you suggest we do, my Lord? How can we ensure our secret remains hidden?" A devious smile crept across Lord Arcturus' face as he formulated a plan. "We must be more discreet than ever before, my dear. No more late-night rendezvous, no more moments of vulnerability. We shall become shadows in the darkness, whispers in the wind. Our act must remain hidden, buried deep within our hearts."

He glanced around. “Not literally, Kael,” I snorted. “I mean, the biggest matter we have here.” “Oh? Is that what you guys call it now?” He blinked. “How old are you, Kael?” I muttered. He walked up to me. “So, are you going to start talking? Or?” He gave me a straight face. “Well, there is a way that you can stay hidden, though. It’s buried deep in the books. Even I don’t know how the trick works.”

He paused, then gave me that look again—like he knew exactly what I wasn’t saying. “If you want someone truly hidden,” he said, slowly, “you don’t send them away. You tuck them into the folds of the city. Where they blend. Where no one would ever think to look. Hide them in plain sight.” My lips curled, not quite a smile, but close. “Thank you, Ralph.”
