But then she’d flashed some bright blue wave of light at us, and all of my men had crumpled to the ground. Now, I can see that I’m about the only one getting up. The forest around us is eerily quiet. I wonder if that woman hit the animals with her bolt of light as well. Did she even kill off all of the damn bugs?

I insisted, gently clasping her weathered hands in mine. A warm smile graced the older woman's lips, and her eyes sparkled with a hint of admiration. "You are not who they say you are. You are the light that pierces through the darkness that clouds our lives," she uttered, her words carrying a profound weight. Her praise touched me deeply, and I thanked her profusely for her kind words.

"To guide them through the trials and tribulations of their journey, and to help them find the light." As she spoke, I felt a sense of energy and excitement coursing through me. And try as I could to swallow it,it wouldn't go down.
