When they finally opened, the light burned, weak, but blinding to me. The world didn’t come back all at once. It crept in, like morning light sliding through a crack. The ceiling above me was blurry, a pale color I couldn’t place. It shifted and swam in my vision as if I were underwater. My lashes felt heavy as I blinked, over and over, but the blur remained. Everything was so still. Too still.

I was trying not to shake. "Okay," he said. "Open them. Slowly." I opened my eyes. The world was blurry at first, like looking through a fogged up window. Colors and shapes and light all smeared together into something that did not make sense. I blinked, and blinked again, and slowly, like a camera finding focus, things started to become clear. The ceiling. White tiles with little holes in them. A fluorescent light that was too bright and made me squint. I could see it. I could actually see it.

Claire ⋅•⋅⊰∙∘∘∙⊱⋅•⋅ I slowly opened my eyes, and the world was a hazy blur. A heavy fog seemed to hang over my consciousness, making it difficult to sense where I was.

my lips trembled as I spoke. As my breathing deteriorated, my teeth chattered. I was getting colder, and it was difficult to utter more than a single word. Faces blurred in my vision. The world all around me faded into silence like a silent movie. Just like how a camera’s lens shifted out of focus, the picture became smaller and smaller, fading into black.

DAISY I felt like I was floating in a limbo for what seemed like an eternity and then suddenly, I was sprung back into life. I was confused for a moment, my eyes looking around to see what was going on but my eyesight was blurry. I could not see well, all I could feel was the clamour around me and the feeling of the dusty air. It felt as if there was a war going on. I couldn’t open my eyes well enough to see, and then I realised that there was someone who could help me with that.

It felt like they were glued together. The barking became louder and much more demanding. My fingers and toes wiggled a bit. I forced my eyes open and they complied. My vision was blurry. I almost couldn’t see anything but some colors were visible, like a dark blue I was all too familiar with and a huge black silhouette over me. I blinked slowly and tried focusing more.

I speed-walked down the pavement, fighting back the tears that threatened to spill. I needed to get away to clear my head. But as I walked, the world around me started to spin, and I had to slow down to catch my breath and clear my vision. The consequences of starving myself for too long were catching up to me, and it was only getting worse. And then, as everything began to blur, I felt my world tilt before everything went dark.

I nodded slightly as I pushed my seat back and got on my weaker legs. God, what is going on with me? I took steps towards the entrance door of the room. I stopped in my tracks as my head banged, making me move my hand to my forehead. I massaged it but my eyes gave up and so did my feet. I landed on the floor, feeling my entire being drifting away slowly. I don't feel good. Something is wrong. Everything looks blurry. I can't....I can't see clearly. Wha.... A blurry figure appeared, looking down at me.
