RYAN Everything was blurry. Like I was underwater, or like the world was spinning and I couldn’t get my feet under me. I blinked twice. My lashes stuck together. My head pounded, like someone had drilled a hole straight through it. I tried lifting my hand to my face. It barely moved. Where…? I forced my eyes open again, squinting hard through the haze. A room. Dim. Cold. No windows. Oh God. No. No, no, no.

"After we get married, you can quit your job and enjoy life peacefully at home. We'll have a few kids. Even if you can't see, I'll still make you happy." So, he had already planned out my entire retreat. There was a noise at the door, and I instinctively turned my head—but I couldn't see anything. "You must be Nina, right?" It was a familiar female voice. "I'm Indya, Anthony's friend. I came to visit you." My hand, holding the cup, tightened slightly. "I heard you lost your sight in an accident. I was once blind too. I understand what it feels like to struggle in the dark."

It started small, like a spark, then grew, filling every nerve, every fibre of her being. “Go! Go now, Clara!” her grandmother urged, her eyes glistening with tears and pride. Before Clara could question it, the warmth exploded outward. Time itself seemed to shiver. The firelight warped and stretched, the screams became distant echoes, and the ground beneath her feet disappeared. One moment, she was on scorched earth. The next, she was falling. The world around her blurred, colours and shapes twisting in impossible ways. She felt weightless, suspended between moments, suspended between worlds. Then, as suddenly, as it began, it ended.

"Thank Ms. Ellison for her kindness on my behalf, but my life isn't meant to clean up after her." I hung up and looked out at the busy traffic below. The collapse of that project had come even faster than I expected. A faint smile spread across my lips.

My mind is spacing out and it feels like it is in another world of nowhere. I can hear some beats from the music I am listening but I can not figure out what is the song. I can feel that my eyes are slowly closing. I am trying ny best not to fall asleep but it looks like my eyes already decided that they are going to sleep and shut. My vision grows blurry. And for the second time today, the world tilts. .

why all of the sudden? My head spinning crazily. suddenly a pair of strong arms wrapped around me. my first reaction was to push away but i was drained out of energy. "Shhhhh it's alright. no need to put pressure on yourself. it going to be alright" those were the last words i heard before i blacked out. the choice of vocabulary in those sentences were far from being good but why? why were those words extremely.....calming?
