“I’ve waited a long time to meet you in the flesh.” Lira blocked my path, her jaw clenched, shoulders rigid. “You’re not supposed to be alive,” she said. Wraith tilted his head. “Neither are you. But here we are. Like a family reunion... except one of us brought the matches.” The others behind him didn’t speak. They stood in a loose arc, some twitching, some humming softly, all of them watching me like wolves waiting for the weakest step. I could smell the decay on them. Something about their minds had snapped and been stitched back together wrong.

The Wraith called, his voice carrying across the cold air, smooth and poisonous, too calm. Raven stepped forward, her shadow wrapping around her shoulders like a cloak, her eyes burning gold. “This is our home,” she called back. The Wraith tilted his head, amusement flickering across his face. “Not for long.” Lightning flickered beside her as Ragnar stepped up, storm steady, his gaze locked on The Wraith. “You’ll have to go through us,” Ragnar said. The Wraith’s smile widened, slow and cruel. “That was the plan.” He lifted his hand, and a witch stepped forward, her eyes black as pitch, power curling around her fingers like smoke.

“These are shadow wraiths. They’re dangerous and can manipulate the shadows around us. We need to be careful.” The first encounter with the wraiths was swift and brutal. The wraiths attacked with a ferocity that took them by surprise, their shadowy forms making them difficult to track. Allan’s shadows clashed with the wraiths, creating an intense battle of dark forces. Kai wielded his powers with precision, his attacks cutting through the wraiths.
