She beams, pleased, and sets a plate laden with pancakes drowning in syrup before me. I pick up my fork, poke at the fluffy cakes, and take a small bite. It's all I can do not to gag. The sweetness is cloying, sticking to the roof of my mouth. I swallow hard, chasing the bite with a gulp of milk. “Something wrong, sweet pea?” The old lady frowns, wrinkles creasing her weathered face. “Just not very hungry,” I lie. If I tell her the truth, she'll only worry. And there's nothing to worry about.

The last thing she needed was someone using her as a shoulder to cry on. Someone settled in beside her. An old woman. Seventy maybe. Her scrawny face spoke of untold hardship than age. She smelled like Durian, the fruit that smelt like gym socks. Her hair, grey with age, was grubby and greasy. Clarissa forced down the bile that had found itself to her throat as she took in the sight which was the old lady.

It wasn't a very big shack, so the room was very crowded, but nobody seemed to be disturbed with that. One woman came and grabbed her luggage, and another man offered her a plate with some sandwiches and a glass of juice. Clifford offered a place on the couch for her, sitting in front of her next. While Grandma ate her sandwiches and rested from the trip, they talked about a lot of nonsense and curiosities about how theirs live had been.

So much had changed within so short a time and she was having trouble wrapping her young mind around the spinning ball of change. The red cardboard box is still there, and as we approach it I notice the lid is still closed from the last time my grandma shut it. I open it and the spell books and magic books are still inside. I blow the dust away and brush it aside with the kitchen towel. The book of elder magic floats in the air and a great light appears before our eyes. The pages move by themselves as the book glows in the air before us. The pages turn to a spell with a picture of the luna lily flowers on the page. I look at a mirror in the corner of my grandma's attic and hear scurrying on my grandma's roof.

the old man chuckled. “Really, grandpa, can I share in what is making you so happy?” The lady asked while smiling broadly. She soon joined the old man and pecked his cheek before sitting close to him and collected the book from him. “This looks very old,” she said when she saw the language the book was written in. “Indeed, the book is older than your grandmother and I, but it was her favorite… and your mother too. They loved the story a lot.”

The old lady nodded in satisfaction and said, "Girl, I hope you and him can live harmoniously, be happy and healthy for a lifetime." "Thank you, Grandma," Thea said. After the old lady left, Thea pondered in the garden. Finally, she found a patch of clover garden. Suddenly, a brilliant idea struck her, and she immediately dove into the grass, searching diligently. After Thorne woke up, he didn't see Thea, but instead saw an elderly couple standing respectfully in front of him. "Mr. Thorne, we have done as you instructed."
