Lumi’s POV I look away first, not minding that he’s still staring at me to say something. Clover exhales dramatically. “Oh, this is not how I planned to die.” “We’re not dying,” I mutter, not sure of what I was saying. “Relax.” “You say that now, but it’s been ten minutes—” ….. A few minutes pass. Clover leans toward me, her voice low enough that it doesn’t carry. “This is what you wanted huh.”

***** Clover " Come on Clover!" I tried to move but... my body felt numb..." Get up!" I felt her pull me up but I slipped back..."You have to get up!" Tears rolled down my face as I watched her..." Please Clover Cloverrrr....!" She started to fade and her voice grew distant...at that moment I could move the upper half of my body... I reached out to her but...it was too late...she was...gone. My body jerked forward and my eyes snapped open to meet the darkness of my cell. My heart was beating rapidly in my chest, my wolf whined in my head. I closed my eyes and took some deep breaths to attain my normal heart beat.

Third Person POV As the week begins, Clover settles back into a rhythm that, on the surface, looks routine, almost boring. Three days a week at the company. Goes to meetings, works on paperwork. She exercises her managerial experience with quiet authority, but beneath that structure, something has shifted. She’s been getting closer to the Blackwoods. Lately, instead of heading home after work, Clover finds herself Ubering straight to the Blackwood estate. She was not invited in any formal way, and it was not announced. Just… welcomed. As if she has always belonged there.

Clover was quite confused seeing some man who seemed gentle sitting in his space. His eyes brows as he walked forward. He stopped right behind Dylan and clenched his fist on the top rail. Chloe's eyes were up, and she was looking directly at Clover, who was still standing behind Dylan, doing absolutely nothing. When Clover noticed Chloe wasn't saying a word, he walked towards her and shifted his gaze to Dylan's powerful looking face. "Hold on a second" Clover muttered slowly raising his index finger to Dylan. "Isn't he the man you…" His voice trailed off, and he crouched his head low towards a very nervous looking Chloe.

His wolf is furious, not at Clover but at him. -You fool,- his wolf growls. -You've wasted years.- "Shut up," Milton mutters, but there's no conviction behind it. For the first time, doubt creeps in, unwelcome and uncomfortable. Outside, Clover slips away from the main paths, taking a hidden trail that winds through the oldest part of the Kirkwood forest. Here, ancient pines tower overhead, their branches creating a natural cathedral. The afternoon light filters through in dappled patterns, illuminating patches of wildflowers that grow in defiant clusters.

I notice Clover running closer to the border. The border of where? I can’t tell in the dark. I do know that we shouldn’t be here, however. Sure, Bella can take care of herself and me; she’s a trained warrior. I’m no shrinking violet myself, but that’s not to say Bella and I go looking for trouble. ‘Clover!’ My wolf yells into our mind-link. She stops and turns to my wolf. Clover, a large black and tan wolf, trots over and nudges my snout with her own.

Marie's pov: After pushing away the painful memories,it's then I realized I was done with my hot chocolate and only then did I notice the salty tears rolling down my cheeks making my eyes puffy.The rain had stopped pouring as a clear sky was visible showing the beautiful stars. Reminiscing my mother's last words I knew it was time for me to fullfil my promise.I mean,A promise is a debt and the only time you can't fullfil it's only when out of necessity. Now was the right time.

I shrugged, though the resemblance had been too sharp to dismiss easily. "Did she have the freckles I have on my face?" Clover asked, leaning slightly forward. "Yes," I said honestly. She paused. "Okay, I guess that's odd." She set her book aside, and I sat across from her. "Anyway," I exhaled. "What are you reading?" "70s fashion in summer." "Isn't that boring?" "Not at all. It's actually an exquisite book." "Is it?" I asked, genuinely curious. "Are you into fashion?"

The door was solid oak with heavy locks. Beautiful, comfortable, and absolutely inescapable. Perfect. I reached carefully into my elaborately styled hair and extracted a small crystal, no bigger than a pearl. The communication device pulsed with soft blue light as I activated it with a whisper of power. "I am in," I whispered quietly. Static crackled for a moment before a familiar voice responded—rough, commanding, tinged with the kind of darkness that made smart people run. "About time, little wolf. Status report."
