They Whispered To Her Novels & Stories

She tilted her head up to the soft pink light. "I will not burn again," she whispered. And somewhere, far off, something heard her. And smiled.

It sounded like something you said to scare children. But nothing about this felt like a story.

She was trying to say something but it was a low whisper. He couldn't hear her so he leaned down closer to her face and nodded a little as a sign for her to talk. "I... was... finding you." She whispered. He has gotten habitual to her whispers now. It felt like he only heard her voice when he was hovered above her on their bed at night. But he won't let her speak then. Just scream.

And in a voice that’s nothing like the calm facade she’s worn all day, she whispers— “They found me.”
