Kiara's mind was racing as she paced back and forth in her living room, unable to shake the thirst that was consuming her. She had tried to eat food, but everything tasted odd in her mouth, and she couldn't keep anything down. The only thing she wanted was blood, and it scared her to her core. She screamed in frustration, hoping that someone would hear her and come to her aid. But there was no one to help her, and she was on her own. She had to figure out a way to control her thirst before it consumed her completely.

Blythe shuts her eyes tightly when she's starting to feel her head spinning fast again, the abnormal craving for something she hasn't even tasted before. The whole time that Zandro was carrying her, Blythe could feel a sense of peace reigning over her heart and her whole system. But she was also praying that they would be home quickly because she couldn't explain the sudden thirst in her throat like there was something that was urging her to alleviate it in one way or another.

Chapter 8: Good girl Pov: Nyx I looked up as the door to my cell creaked open. My stomach was hollow with hunger, and my throat burned with thirst. It had been days since I'd had anything to eat or drink, and the ache was starting to consume me.

CINZIA POV I was thirsty. It had been two days since our capture, and I hadn't had more than a sip of water. I supposed I should count myself fortunate, as the others hadn't even had that chance. As a server passed by, I swiftly snatched a glass, hoping for a reprieve. I downed its contents in a single gulp, only to wince. It wasn't water. My throat burned, and I gasped, scanning the expansive hall for something to ease the pain creeping toward my chest. I had never tasted a glass of wine in all my years, but the it had looked inviting and much more like water.

He just kept signing whatever he was signing. I barely cared. All I could care about was my throat. My throat was so dry. I couldn't swallow, and my tongue felt too big for my mouth. I'd never been this thirsty in my life. The hunger was bad, but the thirst was madness. It hollowed out my thoughts and filled them with images of water. Then Lucien reached to his right and picked up a glass of water. The condensation beaded on the crystal as he set it down on the table between us.

The decor and furnishings held a faint trace of familiarity, yet no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't recall where she had seen them before. Before she could make sense of anything, an overwhelming thirst clawed at her throat, followed by an unbearable heat spreading through her body. It felt as though she were burning from the inside out, as if she had been thrust into a scorching desert, every cell in her body desperately craving relief. "Water…" she murmured weakly, her voice barely above a whisper. Bare feet touching the cold floor, she moved with cautious, yet urgent steps, instinctively searching for water.

I couldn't discern its origin, couldn't fathom why this insatiable thirst persisted even as I fed. With a disdainful sneer, I hurled him onto the couch, his face drained of colour. Frustration welled within me as I paced the room, grappling with the inexplicable emptiness that haunted me. It was a torment, a reminder of the insatiable hunger that defined my existence, a hunger that no amount of blood could satiate.

I stumbled against the wooden shelf, gripping it for support as my vision became nothing more than a blurry sight, and the dryness in my throat started to itch badly, and the deep hunger in my belly burned furiously. It was almost maddening. I didn’t know when I rushed down the water in the jug Kali left for me, hoping to quench the sickening thirst growing inside of me. But I couldn’t quench it. It only grew worse. Irritatingly worse, grating on me, driving me insane along with everything I was feeling.

It was hard to say how long I spent under the blasting heat, but when I eventually emerged from the bathroom, the moon had disappeared beneath the skies. There were multiple missed calls and texts from my mother, but I refused to torture myself with her drama, at least not tonight. You're going to marry her, Tyler, it doesn't matter how long you try to run from it, so the sooner you accept her, the better for us all. I had a crushing urge to slam my phone against the wall and scream at the world till they left me alone, but instead, I walked over to my office corner and began to go through the files of the new interns at my firm, grateful for the distraction.

“It is blood. And it is the only thing that will quench the thirst that consumes you. Drink, girl, or you will die.” His words were flat, unyielding. No compassion, just brutal fact. My gaze darted between the flask of dark liquid and Lysander’s unreadable face. Die. The word echoed in my mind. Die here, after everything? After surviving Kieran’s rage and Rhys’s betrayal? After running from everything I knew? The thirst was a living thing inside me now, a monster gnawing at my insides. It pulsed, a rhythmic agony. My head throbbed. Every instinct screamed no, but my body was screaming survive.
