Not in a way she could explain, but there was something ancient about it—something that pulsed beneath the surface, waiting to be uncovered. The Book of Life, her heart raced, every answer she had been searching for… could be inside.

Wala kasing pen-name na nakalagay sa cover Pero ang ipinagtataka ko, wala namang ibang feeling na ipinapadama ang nga librong 'to unlike sa libro na nasa akin. I opened a book without the plastic wrap, okay lang naman sigurong basahin 'to, ano? I turned to its 1st page. "What..." I muttered, iba ang contents nito. Hindi siya parang diary, para lang siyang history book. This is weird.

Kneeling down, she picked it up and read the title. “THE BOOK OF FORBIDDEN SPELLS.” There was no name of the creator anywhere on the book. Emmeline was not sure who had put the book in there but it was completely locked. The book was locked by a physical lock and a magical spell. She could tell because there was magic heat coming out from it.

“Of course.” I fall silent, my eyes looking at the book, then I move toward it, reaching out to take it. I glance at Artemis for permission and he nods. It’s heavy, and it feels like there is dust embedded in its worn leather. It has to be hundreds of years old by the looks of it. There is no title. Or an author's name, making it feel more like a journal; than a book from the pack library. “What is this?” I ask him and he slumps into his seat.

I look over to where Primus had been sitting not so long ago. What's this? Primus left something behind. A book? Was this the gift he meant to give me? It is a small thing, dainty. I cannot imagine someone as large as Primus ever reading this because how could he ever hold onto it without breaking it? It looks so precious, and fragile. Even as a child, I can't imagine he would have been small or careful enough to read it. Gently, as if lifting a rose from a vase, I pick up the blush pink volume, marveling at the delightful texture of its silk binding, the title embroidered in gold. While I might not know many words yet, I know enough that I can read the title of this book.

"I'm not sure. But I am almost sure no one saw me, can you tell me what is going on right now? Is it some sort of 'no touch book'?" "Well, kinda. You see that book is not a scrapbook. It's a journal." "Okay, whose journal?" "Everyone you saw their pictures there." "Wait, hold on." "Holding on." "You're telling me that that book is a diary? Like not historical data or educative, I don't know, background checks. You are saying it's a diary?" "Well, practically we go by journal but sure diary works too." "If it is a diary, why the hell is it kept in the library? I have never heard of a diary being kept in a library before."
