This Is Not A Ghost Story Novels & Stories

I sat there for a long time, trying to digest everything. It turned out my ghost housemate used to be a legend at the company that I now worked at. I shut my laptop, my feelings all tangled up. I asked, "So, you're only stuck here because of the car accident… Is that it?" After a long silence, Ivy's voice echoed faintly in my head. It was soft and almost drifting. "It wasn't an accident." My heart lurched. Before I could ask anything else, her voice faded away.

Ghosts must be real. The ghost stories here are too many to keep track of, although Leonard knew them all. "Which story is this ghost from, Leonard?" I had a bit of liquid courage left. Leonard didn't answer me but I had hope that he'd hit the security button at his desk. It was a silent alarm. Then it spoke. "I guess you could say a ghost and I share a few things in common, but no love, I'm no ghost. Tethered spirits and lost souls are what humans call "ghosts"."

His big eyes stared at me with hope and anticipation. I pulled him closer and placed his head on my chest. He wrapped his tiny arm around my stomach. I started running my fingers in his silky hairs. It was a surreal feeling that I couldn’t explain in words. I felt the motherly instinct when I didn’t give birth to a child myself. “Will you tell me a ghost story, Mom?” He poked my cheek. “I don’t know any ghost story but I can tell you the story of a young prince who befriended a lion. It’s not a fairy tale.” I said.

Doesn’t matter if we are dating, he won’t give me false credit. We get to the last round of the golf course at last, and although I did not win, an obvious outcome, I didn’t do too badly. Between those two, it seems they’re equal in score. They seem to have a small rivalry going on, which means outside of their work relationship, these two are somewhat on more friendly terms. Seeing as they have known one another a long time already, it stands to reason they’d be on more friendly terms. “So onto Horror Land?” Drake then asks as we make our way back to the entrance to hand back the golf clubs and balls. “I think mostly, I’ll just let you two make the most of it, but I’ll join you in the House

“I imagine it might seem that way to you and me, but they have different beliefs. Let’s just give the fella a chance. If this place is really haunted, he’s the one to help us. Besides, it would me mighty rude of us to have him come here and then turn him away.” Melody’s lower lip protruded forward as she contemplated his words. “You said it was haunted. Now you say if it is haunted. Which is it?” “I don’t rightly know for sure. I’m not an expert with ghosts.” Adam grabbed the coffee pot and a cup. “I say we give the guy a chance. Lord knows, I’m not worth a salt when it comes to spirits.” Melody looked at her father with raised brow. “Do you think it’s haunted too, father?”

He stood up and walked to where he used to out his books, he took a small but old looking book and came back to where he was sitting, next to me. "I read it in this book , there is a certain theory which say that people might have ghost clones, these clones looks and dresses exactly like the original you and they can do anything you can do. Sometimes if you are lucky you can have a good clone but if you are unlucky you are likely to have a bad and evil clone , which means you are unlucky because yours is evil" he explained. His explanation shocked me , i have never heard such things and I've never believed in ghost theories.

"Yieeeeee yeah you don’t like him because he’s arrogant, he’s muscular, he has a pointed nose, he’s tall, and his lips looked so sweet. Yes Alaister you don't like him!" and with that she threw me a pillow Hahahaha. We talked about music and other kinds of stuff until Aunt Ana came with our food so we ate first. "Alaister do you believe in ghosts?" I asked Alaister, now that she was lying down in our bed. "Did you watch a horror movie last night? Then I would say that there are no ghosts and I do not believe in ghosts." Wow! It doesn't seem like she can see ghosts hmm. Yes she can see ghosts but she doesn’t want to tell to other people about that.

I never thought there were more beings out there apart from vampires, werewolves, and witches, but then another one shows up, and I don't know what to make of him, a weird man that the humans couldn't see, is he perhaps a ghost? Ghost or whatever, my guy feeling is telling me not to trust this man, being or thing. "Look here Mr. Ghost. I do not need your help, I can find them on my own." I bluntly refuse, closing my eyes to ignore him. The more I see him, the more I am forced to reply or even pay attention to him, so it's best I ignore him, maybe, later he'll leave.

I reached out and pressed the radio button on the steering wheel. My voice was cold, cutting through the static. "Mason Vale, do you see a ghost in your mirror?" I said coldly into the radio. Those words pierced straight through Mason's last line of composure. His car hesitated for an obvious instant on the straight. Now. I smashed the throttle down. The car tore through the air and pulled alongside him. Ahead was a chain of fast S-curves. Seeing that I was about to pass, a vicious look flashed through Mason's eyes.

Not like a ghost. Not like a secret. It's like a home listening to a good story.
