"I really haven't done much since last night. I got confused and worried when you and William did not return after nightfall." Something was pulling him toward the attic. Thomas hadn’t been there in a while. He saw a fine coat of dust that had settled over the books and other boxes. Thomas would come through the front door after school run inside and jump into her chair. When he had seen the rip in the fabric, he was so scared and angry that he had ruined her favorite chair, but she didn’t care.
