They are not full members of the pack but can be used as protection,” Sean explained.

She clawed at my shoulder, but I twisted mid-roll and slammed her into the ground, biting deep into her ribs. All around me, warriors clashed. Thorne was a blur of rage, tearing through three rogues at once. His jaws closed around a rogue’s head and didn’t let go. Blood sprayed in arcs, black against the golden grass. He was so quick and strong, maybe the best fighter I had seen, even better than dad ever was. The fight was a storm… no rhythm, just chaos and instinct.

Claw’s POV Standing in front of forty to fifty recruits, I observe them with my hands on my waist and a rueful grin on my face. I notice a few imbeciles, twarts, little fuckers. Easy to form into warriors with little time. One of those imbeciles pokes his hand in his nose, taking it into his mouth right after. Real warrior material, these lots. I clear my throat, loud enough to get their attention. “Alright, listen up, mutts!” I bark as I walk in front of them with my arms folded behind my back. “You think you’re wolves? You’re not. You’re puppies who still piss on the floor and cry for mama."

I stepped forward, out of his grasp. My throat burned where his claws had been, but I didn’t falter. The ground split beneath my feet. Light burst from my chest, not blinding, commanding. The wind answered first. It tore through the battlefield, knocking rogues off their feet, ripping weapons from hands, slamming bodies into the dirt. Moonclaw warriors staggered but stayed standing, protected by a force they didn’t understand. Lightning followed. Not wild strikes….precise. Bolts slammed into clusters of rogues, into siege weapons, into the walls they were trying to breach. Fire exploded. Stone shattered.
