DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH

DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH

She was structuring it with the care she had developed over 15 years but this time she was in control: * The Uncut Foundation: The new flagship novel under the Nora Vale Imprint would focus on the realities of the early harbor strikes and the secret collateral that started it all, not the glossy histories of Manhattan's elite. * The Algorithm Break: by speeding up the plot with cliffhangers she structured the saga into big acts that let the historical tension build naturally. * The Operational Shield: Downstairs, the corporate work of The Narrative was running smoothly under Marcus's eye providing a solid financial foundation that let her write freely. Julian picked up the stone with his glo

The Path Of Writing

The reason and background might not be delivered at the beginning of the book, but it needs to be clear in the outline] b. Body of your plot These are the big events (structure of the story) that decide the flow of their minds, like what happened when the FL meets with the ML and so on. This is the most important part that decides whether the flow of the book would work. Event one: what's their first stage of relationship (after inciting incident)

Aetherion Academia #1: Shadows of Rebirth

Aetherion Academia #1: Shadows of Rebirth

I stared at the words, feeling them settle in my chest like stones dropped into deep water, like anchors cast into a sea that had no bottom. The killer wanted a sequence. Not chaos. Not random violence. A specific pattern, a ritual progression, a story told in three acts with the Blood Moon as climax and the Academy as stage. Perrin at the well. The first death. The frame established, the villainess named, the corruption seeded in the spiritual waters that fed the eastern wing. The Marchetti boy in the bell tower. The second death. The imitation improved, the narrative accelerated, the fear deepened until it became faith.

He'd been editing the printed manuscript. The third pass. He'd done the first pass for content—making sure the recipes were accurate, that the instructions were clear, that the stories matched the food. The second pass for structure—the order of the recipes, the flow from one section to the next, the way the book moved through the seasons of a life. The third pass was for language: the places where the words were still not quite exact, the recipe instructions that had a gap between what he meant and what he'd written.

FADE INTO YOU

FADE INTO YOU

The consequences of the first plot point usually lead to the first pinch point, in which the protagonist faces intense pressure as a result of the first plot point. 4 Tips for Writing a Great First Plot Point An effective first plot point serves as the catalyst for adventure for your protagonist. Here are some tips for writing a great first plot point: Recognize that placement is key. The first plot point marks the end of the first act and serves as a bridge into act two. In three-act structure, the placement of plot points is critical, and the unusual positioning of this first major turning point can have an adverse ripple effect on the rest of the story structure. If the first key event co

he says. "It might be," she confirms. "The third book is not in a hurry." He nods. He understands the principle of the thing not being in a hurry. He has always understood it. It is one of the things the thirty pages included. She opens the fifteenth notebook to the new page and begins the structure of the third book. Not the content — the structure. The architecture that will hold the argument. The frame before the walls. The first life as the research. The third book, beginning.

My Secret, My Bully, My Mates. Series

My Secret, My Bully, My Mates. Series

I am not a professional writer, but I have enjoyed studying the craft as I develop this book and get more confident each day. The story has been broken down into three main parts following Skylar's life: Act 1 - Skylar's early life experiences Act 2 - Skylar's evolution once she leaves her pack for the first time. Act 3 - Coming home, Skylar as a woman returning to a life she left as a child. For any writers out there reading through with me. Please give me any and all feedback that you have. I love to learn and grow as I go through this process.

This was a good book! Filled with plenty of fighting and love. I do however recommend you don’t listen to the “last chapter” it’s not part of story. It’s Author’s notes if I had known I wouldn’t have paid to open “chapter” other than that I say I recommend this book. Happy reading everyone

DENY ME IF YOU CAN

DENY ME IF YOU CAN

"I want you to know that the first review — the one where you told me about three conflicts and the third one was the structural question you hadn't resolved — I knew then that the structure would hold." She held Vera's gaze. "How?" she said. "Because you told me about the third conflict," Vera said. "You didn't have to. The honest answer would have been to say two minor resolved conflicts and leave the third unspoken. The structure was already ratified. I couldn't have stopped it." She held her gaze. "You told me anyway. Because you had decided that honest oversight required honest answers even when the honest answer was complicated." A pause. "That is what makes a structure hold. Not the d

"The third act is longer than I expected. The staying is more — there's more to say about it than I anticipated." "Because you're still living it," Dante said. "Because staying is infinite," Elian said. "The first act of anything has a defined shape — the beginning, the establishing, the first decisions. The staying act is open-ended. I keep finding more inside it." "What are you finding?" Dante said.

Just the accumulated momentum of seven weeks arriving at a point. He was at the edge of the single overhead light when I came in. He turned when I entered. "There's a scene in the third act," he said, "that I've been trying to get right for three drafts and haven't. The traitor, after the betrayal is complete. When he's alone." He looked at me. "I know the shape of what the character is feeling but I haven't been able to write it in a way that gives the actor something to work with." A pause. "I thought you might know what the traitor would do in that moment."

Wait…what? Transmigrating to someone he didn’t like is so funny. I really want to see how he’ll survive in another person’s body. This is an amazing book, Author. I love the tension, suspense…everything.

I started this expecting a typical transmigration story, but it surprised me in the best way. Watching the MC struggle to survive in the body of someone he once looked down on is both entertaining and satisfying.
