The Mage's Heart

The Mage's Heart

I was fonder of the mage, and if I had to chose between him and Coryfe, it was not a difficult choice to make. We stepped out into the dining hall, to find the space filled with mages, their hoods drawn, shadowing their faces. The entire college was present, from apprentices through to the seniors, all muttering incantations as they attempted to end Rivyn’s spell. They turned to us in alarmed unison, obviously unaware that Rivyn had succeeded in freeing us from the hallway. I began my little children’s verse about the wind, and heard my voice echo around the room, so that I sung rounds with myself, the sound rising beyond the abilities of a non-magical vocal range. Wind rose, blowing back th

A brilliant adult fairy tale! Dark romance, fairies, sirens, mages, dragons, dark elves, mermaids, trolls, imps, spells, and quests. I loved it, an action packed adventure from beginning to end. Folk lore and fae stories truly came alive, I fell in love with the characters and got lost in the story.

Chains Of The Heart

Chains Of The Heart

"Holt mages? Here? In Tarren Vale? For the King's consort?" The captain did not laugh. His face was still pale. His hands were still shaking. "I saw them myself, my Lord. Their robes were indigo. Their trim was gold. They had the symbols of the highest circle." Marius's laugh died. "You're certain." "I am certain." Marius set down his fork. He looked at Bayley. Bayley looked at him. The servants had stopped moving. "How many?" Marius asked. "Three mages. A dozen guards. A cart of supplies. Timber. Stone. Food. Medicine."

Cruel Heart

Cruel Heart

" The Bartender approaches us with two blue drinks, both with some smoke coming out of them. Strange eye, not wanting much to drink this. Marga takes hers quickly and looks at me. "I ordered for both of us!" Believe me, it's good! She holds her small cup and encourages me to drink mine. I caught it, watching her tell: - One two three! We turn together and I make a face. The drink goes down burning my throat until the end. The air leaving my mouth is hot, and Marga laughs excitedly. "I'm not drinking that anymore!" - I scream and she laughs. "I'll order a weaker one!"

The Wolf Girl and Her Alpha Mate

The Wolf Girl and Her Alpha Mate

If it was true that Maura and her mage friends were going to come in and fight on the side of the Council, and that seemed to be the case, based on what had just happened, Everly and her alliance were going to need some way of countering it. Margot thought for a moment, her eyes focused out the window at the landscape as she continued to wash the dishes Everly had intended to do as repayment for all of Margot’s kindness. “I may have a contact,” she said. “I’ll have to see.” “We’re kind of in a hurry,” Slate reminded her, his voice calm. Margot turned and smiled over her shoulder. “You’re a wolf, son. Not a cat.” “Wh—” Slate began, clearly not understanding that Margot was trying to tell him

It's Just Magic

It's Just Magic

My head was spinning with thoughts that I never quite considered to be worth problemizing over. "Can you stop that?!" banging on my temples with the palsm of my hands, trying to dispel wild thoughts that were uncessesary at the moment. I walked to the living room. The coffee table was also mahogany. “This woman is obsessed with mahogany.” I said picking up the remote control for the flat screen TV. It turned on quickly. The news flashed in front of my eyes. “Two people dead in an explosion,” the reporter said, “according to eye witnesses, the children of the deceased couple were able to run away from the house, right before the explosion.”

Collide

Collide

She placed the glasses and a bottle of Moscato and a bottle of Cuervo Gold on the table. “I wasn’t sure whether we were celebrating or drinking away our feelings so… I came prepared for either.” She then held up a bottle of Margarita mix and quirked one of her dark winged brows at Dani questioningly. “Let’s start with the wine and see what develops,” Dani answered. Maggie’s mouth made an “O” of surprise but she put the Margarita mix in the fridge and the tequila in the freezer. After they had their glasses in hand and Maggie had brought cheese and crackers out of her apparently bottomless pink bag, she could hold out no longer.

Dark Escape (Book 1 of Dark Escape Duo)

Dark Escape (Book 1 of Dark Escape Duo)

Maggie held up her hand in a gesture to signal him to stop where he was. “Stay where ya are,” she barked. “No one is going anywhere. Not just yet, anyway.” She looked directly at Tara. “I want ya to sit there and listen to me for a bit while I try to explain what’s been going on here. It’s a bit hard to understand, so I’ll take me time.” Tara reluctantly agreed and took the chair between Brandon and her dear friend. Maggie spoke of times of old with demons and witches and sorcerers; times in her country when people believed in the undead and of possession.

Rannigan's Redemption

Rannigan's Redemption

A group was clustered at the far end. "These are my guys," he said by way of introduction. "Hey, guys, this is Maggie." He indicated five men with virtually the same cut as his own, but whose hair was in shades ranging from black to red to grey. They all murmured welcomes. "What are you drinking, Maggie?" Mike asked. "A Guinness?" she shrugged. He grinned. "A Guinness it is." They took their pints to a high-top table opposite the bar along the exposed brick wall. Two men who were sitting at the table immediately got up. "Thanks, guys," Mike said. "This is Maggie. Maggie, Bob and Felix."

This was worth the time to read. Real characters, wonderful story, and yes, some tears. But totally worth it. I will breath to reset my emotions, and read it again to catch the details I missed the first read. it is that good of a story.

It was a breath of fresh air, original, I have not read anything with this plot on this platform, wonderfully written, with the right dose of humour, sarcasm, love and redemption indeed. I loved it big time.

Tango With Three Vampires

Tango With Three Vampires

I don't understand why she is nervous but it only matters that she is and I need to help her. “What do you mean?” Grace asked, just as confused as I am. Amelia's eyes shifted around the room. “Like…I don't know, never mind.” She shook the thought from her head. “No, princess. Go ahead and ask your question.” Logan muttered. She cleared her throat. “What are the risks?" She asked slightly more confidently. Grace displays a warm smile, some worry lifts off my shoulders as she seems to be trying to make Amelia feel safe. “Magica comes from the user, it can drain my energy but I come from a family of witches so my energy is more than someone who is just practicing.” Grace explained.

Mated To Three Alphas

Mated To Three Alphas

To the moon overhead and the grass and the mango tree and the light in my mother's kitchen visible through the back window. "I'm ready." I reached back without turning around. Three hands found mine at the same moment, none of them waiting for the others. Lucas's right hand, firm and deliberate. Calix's left, steady and warm. Matteo's closing over both, or somewhere between them, all three arriving in the same breath as though they had rehearsed it, which they had not and which made it matter more. I held them.
