I mean why should we prolong our agony when it would be what we will be going to do?” Gritting his teeth, he responded, "No. You wait for three months." "We're not lovers, but you're asking me for the three-month rule, Alpha Hugh. Fine. Let's not ruin the fun now and enjoy this night." I held my beer mid-air. "Cheers, Alpha Hugh." "There will be no rejection within the six months," he said. “But month after that, I don’t want to promise anything, Autumn.” I nodded. "Alright. Fine."

"Yeah, so I'm okay with your rules except two. But before that, I should state my rules too. One: You can't say No whenever I call you except you are truly busy with something important.' He said and I nodded. It was crazy but I knew I would be able to come up with something when the time comes. "Go on." I told him. "You can't beat me up or hurt me when we are together concerning this deal." He said and a small smirk appeared on my face but I didn't say a word and just nodded. "Three: This will end after four years." He added and my eyes widened. "Are you crazy? Four years? Have you lost your mind?" I questioned and he nodded.

“Please. Did you actually think I’d fall for you?” I didn’t answer that. My throat dried, not that I expected that he would fall for him but hearing from him hurt a little. “Rule three.” I continued suddenly “We never talk about this agreement to anyone, not your teammates, not even your dumb hockey groupies. No exceptions.” His brow lifted. “You think I have groupies?” I gave him a look. “Okay, maybe I do,” he admitted, unbothered. “And rule four,” I said, writing in big, underlined letters, “This fake relationship ends in one month. After homecoming, it’s over. That gives us just enough time for all this to blow over.”

I smiled and walked straight past the nurse as I started concocting a new plan in my head. There will be three simple rules to follow if I need to get laid, a man needs release afterall. Rule 1- it will only last one night, no names would be exchanged, and no phone numbers either. Rule 2- No elongated flings or sleep overs, it seems to complicate things. Following these rules ensures it will be a one-time thing, and the woman won't go as far as falling in love with me after. That means no fucking the pretty nurses at the hospital where I worked. Feeling the tiniest bit more in control, I rolled my shoulders and checked my watch. Still two more hours until my twelve-hour shift ended.

"Three weeks." He returned to his computer and typed away on it. "Remember, once your three weeks are over you leave at once otherwise you both would be in violation of the rules, so if you would like to stay more than that, you had better say so now." The man gave them a stern glare and both boys just knew they wouldn't want to spend another week in this City. "No, three weeks it is," Jason spoke.

It has to be real — filed, witnessed, provable if it's ever challenged, and given what's at stake, it will be challenged.” “Great,” I say. “On top of finding a husband in a month, I have to convince a courtroom it's real.” “I'm sorry,” he says, and he sounds like he means it, which is the only reason I don't cry right there in the chair that's too big for me.

Someone who doesn’t crumble under… pressure. Someone who can follow the rules.” She shifted in her seat, the curve of her spine arching just enough to make the blood in my veins heat. “Rules? You mean the contract?” I nodded, stepping closer until the heat of my body was unmistakable. “Three months. No distractions. No secrets. That’s the deal, Selene. And you agreed to it.”
