Just then, the elevator jolted back to life, the lights flickering on brightly before we continued our smooth ascent as if nothing had happened. “Okay,” I said, my voice stronger now. “Okay, but we need rules.” The doors pinged open on my floor. He placed a hand over the door sensor, holding them open. His gaze was unwavering. “Name them.” “First, the arrangement lasts for two months. That’s it.” “Agreed.” “Second,no sex. Nothing intimate. This is strictly business.” A faint,almost imperceptible shadow crossed his features, but he nodded. “Of course.”

He paused for a moment to notice the Alpha’s reaction but when he got nothing, the elder continued “Even if it won’t be real Alpha. Ok, we can do it this way, you would choose someone that would stay with you for a month or two, we would make it known to the public that both of you are in love. At least, that would be enough to shut the mouths of our people Alpha” Alpha Alcide thought for a while after which he spoke “Two months is too much, I want only two weeks” “But Alpha” the elder protested “Shush, that is my decision, and also, she would not stay in the main house where me and my wife lives, she would stay far from us during this time, am I clear” Alcide said as he stared at his elders

“That means no touching unless absolutely necessary for appearances.” One of Damien’s brows lifted, and amusement flickered across his face. “You make it sound like I’m already planning to seduce you, Sunshine.” She ignored the nickname, keeping her expression impassive. “Rule three: This ends exactly after a year. No extensions, no loopholes, no complications.” His smirk widened slightly, but something in his gaze turned calculating. He studied her for a beat before nodding. “I can agree to those terms. You’re making this easier than I expected.”

“It will last for three months.” A wave of murmurs went around. Three months? That was long. Coach Vega raised his hand for silence. “Every week, one rule will be revealed. This will test not only your academic strength but your discipline, physical performance, loyalty, emotional balance, leadership and instinct.” People whispered again. Even I felt a small chill. He continued. “Those who fail each rule will be disqualified. Only one will get the title and the future privileges that come with it.” Nobody said anything but tension spread in the air.

I laughed at him. "I mean that's fine but keep it pg 13 for me just for a bit. I want to take time to fully get to know you more then what I already do before I'm hoping on your dick." He laughed and kissed the back of my hand. "So am I on the 90 day rule or am I a three date exception?" I shook my head. "I don't know what either of those are so I'm gonna say just give me a week or two." He nodded.

When another minute passed with no answer, I spoke up once more. “Steven, I know it may seem like a long time, but it’s just three months. Consider it a brief opportunity to see where things can go. Compared to three years, it’s a mere blip on the radar. And after those three months, whatever the outcome may be, I’ll accept it and move on.”
