We lay cosy in bed with the window cracked open, allowing the sea breeze air to fill the room. Something about the scent of the sea air makes me feel sleepy, and I don’t remember falling asleep. I’m comfortable in my deep slumber, vaguely aware of Max’s arm draped over my waist. “INTRUDERS!” a voice rings out, startling me from my sleep and almost giving me a heart attack. “It’s a tannoy. Come, we need to help them. Out the window,” Max says quickly as he rushes to the window. “Out the window?” I repeat, almost asking a question.

DEIDRE I fastened the top button of Matteo's dress shirt and rolled up the sleeves before heading toward the only window in the spacious cabin. The view of the sea was mesmerizing. I wasn't really a fan of the sea. I suppose not knowing how to swim was the main reason, but still, it had always held a fascination for me. I'd always wanted to get a close-up view like this. As I opened the window, letting my head out, a cool breeze tousled my hair, and I heaved out a breath. I straightened up when I heard the door creak open.

The window staying, I place my foot on the wall next to it and pull again. "Come on," I say, pulling the window. "Come on. Come off!" "What the hell are you doing," Rebecca asks. "Trying to get us a way across," I answer, letting go of the window. "There isn't anything we can use to get across in here, so I'm trying to use this." "The window," the package asks, "Really?" "Yes, really," I say, using the moment to catch my breath before grabbing the window again. I place my foot on the wall and pull.

The glass shattered and made everyone snap their heads up. Grabbing the box of cigarettes and the lighter, I walked out the broken window, feeling the broken glass dig into my feet into the yard. But I didn’t care. I didn’t give one flying fuck. With shaking hands, I struggled to lite the cigarette I was holding between my teeth. Looking out over the sea, I swore again. It was so much damn information going through my head. I was far past the point of where I would have normally shifted if Cato was with me. Without him though, I was swimming around this sea of anger. Trapped from actually letting myself run away.

So after looking for days, my phone never showed up, and I’ve pretty much accepted I’ll never see it again. I look around the room, trying to trace the source of the music. With a start, I realize that it’s coming from the window. The sound is coming from outside. My window is slightly ajar to let in the cool night air. I tip toe over to it, noticing how the song gets slightly louder and clearer the closer I get. What I see when I reach the window takes my breath away. A faint silvery light glows in the distant darkness of the forest, pulsing and radiating with a slow rhythm, like a phosphorescent fish glimmering in the gloomy ocean depths.

Not one of those college boys’ motorcycles that sometimes passed on the upper road with a pathetic exhaust. This was a sports car. The engine came alive for a moment, heavy and deep, like an expensive animal growling lazily. My hand stilled around the glass. The sound came again, faint, muffled by distance and ocean wind. I turned toward the window. The kitchen reflection was still there. Marble. Yellow light. My shoulder. The glass in my hand. Outside, the moon touched the line of the shore. I set the glass down on the island without a sound.

THE FIRST room had a wide space and a calmly painted wall which is a beige color with a touch of brown. The queen size bed is warm and better. The couch and the red-carpeted floor are well sat perfectly. I put down my shoulder bag on the side table and sat on the bed. Maybe I'll peek into a room later because my view is already fixed on the window. The fresh air coming from the seashore made me flinch. It also reminds me of someone. Someone I couldn't forget, someone I love... but all of it can destroy me enough, but even so I prefer to be close to it, cause 'I know somewhere deep in my heart he is shouting and begging for me. I cut off my gaze out the window and started to lie down to sleep

EMBER~ By the time I returned to my quarters, the morning light had already begun to spill gently through the tall windows, bright and scorching, as though the night had never happened. I walked freely up the porch as if I hadn’t crossed a line I never imagined myself standing so close to.

It had to be enough. I stood, crossing to the window, the glass cool against my palm as I stared out at the sprawling pack lands. The horizon stretched wide, calling me toward the sea, toward answers. My heart pounded, a mix of fear and determination pulsing through me. There was no turning back now—not from the truth, not from the journey, not from the woman I was becoming. I’d face the waves, the ghosts of the witches, and whatever lay beyond. For my powers. For my pup. For myself.
