The sound of the glass was deafening as it wrote in strange patterns and disappeared. I walked closer to the window in fright and the words on the window made my world crash. “Kareth val’drun... sen’dakar ne’varin.” (Translation:Dig deeper —and fate shall call your name.)

Fumbling around the sashes, looking for a lock or something to open the window, my heart skipped a beat. I realized there was none to begin with. The window was sealed shut. Secondhand disappointment coursed through my veins. But no. A glass couldn't hold me back from going back to my father. I wouldn't let it. Looking around, my eyes ceased at the lamp on the bedside table. I grabbed it upside down and positioned myself before the window. With all the might I could gather, I casted it at the glass. The second my hand lost the contact, I braced myself as the sound of glass shattering filled the room. Maybe the outside as well. But I didn't care.

The cold wind blew in through the window and brushed against my face as it whipped my loose hair back behind me. Wait! The wind blew in through the window? But I was sure that I closed the window before I went to bed. My eyes flickered to the window and found it widely open. The wind blew in along with the bright moonlight. I had no idea what the date was, but the moon was almost a complete round circle. Carefully, I got out of bed and took the few steps towards the window on shaky legs. The night was peaceful regardless of the rapid beating of my heart. Why is the window open?

Oh yess the window ! I went near the window fastly opening the curtains .I trys to open them but it's locked. I tried one more time, still jammed, in its place . Out of frustration I punched the window which resulted in my own painful fist ,damn it's hurting like bitch. And I am holding my throbbing fist with my other hand doing some kind of panda dance jumping on one leg to other in hope to reduce the pain. During my jump my eyes went towards the window again this time I noticed the outside surrounding and got shocked ,I was so busy in opening the window that I didn't notice the outside world.it feels like I am on some kind of hill because I can see the lake far from here.

I simply grab the books, and nod, "I-" I lose words. My mouth closed like a fish. I nod again, "This way," I glance at the stack, "Do not forget the books please." I turn away, marching toward the shelves. My ears are burning, my heart is thumping. Selene help me. Help me And my vain little heart. ————————————————- To say I have not recovered would be an understatement. My hand rests on over my heart as I stare out the window, and hum down the chatter of the slaves around me.

Locals must use this as some sort of party spot. Gross, but thankfully, no murder scenes or visible animals waiting to attack me. I probably shouldn't want to see more because tiny goosebumps are popping up and down my arms, but the need to keep going is starting to overwhelm me. Trying to stall for a few more seconds, I stand back and look up. The window, which is almost as tall as me, has leftover pieces of glass piling round the edges. Walking through will be the easy part. Once I'm in, there's no telling what or who could be inside.

Chapter 33 BRIANNA’S POV ***** Outside, the downpour was descending heavily. I stood by the window, my breath creating a small mist on the glass as I peered outside. The rhythmic tap-tap of raindrops against the windowpane created a soothing melody that evoked nostalgic memories in me.

And the freedom to running across a wide, empty field, screaming my lungs out without a soul to stop me, because the land is mine. But reality cut me down quick. “Too bad I’m just a broke girl,” I muttered, anger slicing through me. BANG! The lightning bolt rattled the windowpanes, making me jump. The curtains rustled, though the windows were closed. The abandoned book on the floor began to flip its own pages as if an invisible hand were skimming through. My first thought was, 'It’s just the wind.' Except the wind wasn’t coming from outside, it was pulsing from the book itself.

I use my free hand to try and open it, but the locks are hot and almost melted, and they burn the tips of my fingers at the first touch. I try to use my shoulder to break down the window, but it's of no use. There's only one thing to do. I have to launch myself through the window, but everything and everywhere is so hot. I can't even see to breathe. My cough increases, and my lungs feel like they've had enough. I know I only have a few minutes before I finally lose consciousness. I wrap my arms around the boy and tuck him between my chest andI turn my back to the window, and with full force, I lurch myself through it. I land outside on my back with a few pieces of shards that aren't afraid t

"The window is more fitting for you." His eyes narrowed, but he didn’t argue. Without another word, he jumped out of the window, landing gracefully before vanishing into the woods. I closed the window immediately, locking it tight. The room fell silent again, and I crawled into bed. As soon as my eyes shut, the darkness swallowed me, and I found myself somewhere else entirely. --- I was home. The familiar sight of my family sitting outside, enjoying the cool evening air, warmed me for a moment. But then, the moon turned a deep, bloody red, and everything shifted. Flames erupted around us, consuming everything in their path. The world burned.
