I told Jali I would try, and I intend to uphold that promise. "Evening Fiadh of Earth, would you care to join me for a dance," he says, and I give him a forced grin before nodding. He offers me his elbow, and I take it hesitantly. He guides me toward the center of the dance floor and places his hand on my waist. Anxiety passes through my body as he starts to move, and beads of sweat group together on my forehead. "I am happy you agreed to dance with me. My name is Tilk. I am from Bronkark. I have served since the age of eighteen just like everyone else, and I am delighted to be participating in this harvest," he says, and I nod while looking at our feet.

Beneath The Shadows

Beneath The Shadows

When the firing momentarily stopped, he and Nagar peeked around to deliver more rounds. They dropped two more, causing the last one to move back but Francis himself stopped him dead with shots to the back. The blurs finally arrived at nearer range. They paused to reveal themselves, they were Tikbalangs. Tall humanoid monsters with muscular human torsos, arms and biceps but from the neck up were equine in appearance. Their heads were black stallions with red eyes. From the waist down, the legs were bent and hooved in the same manner as horses. The coloration of its fur matches their faces, midnight black.

A Virgin for the CEO

A Virgin for the CEO

She would love nothing more than for her small family to get better. Thinking about the noise, she surmised that maybe, someone had ridden past and was now gone. Maybe it was a Tikbalang? she even thought gamely. Tikbalang was a local mythical creature that was a mix of horse and man in physical features. She had never felt one or been scared of anything inside the hacienda, though. Ever. She closed the window and as she passed the living room, she bent down to kiss her brother on the top of his head.

GINI: The Wicked Saviour

That was back in the three Kingdom, when the taskmasters had invaded their home and had killed his family and little brother. “Please stop crying,” Ginika said. “I will,” Vera nodded, and tried to force a smile, but the tears kept gushing down. “Here,” Ginika handed her one of his hair scarf. Vera blinked a thank you at him before using the scarf to wipe her moist face. “How long have you know Balak,” Ginika asked, feeling guilty because he knew he had asked that question before. But he couldn’t help the thought. “Forever, I think,” Vera said.

Raven the lurker
I have gotten used to read female lead stories from her so this time when it is male lead it's quite a refreshing and interesting change up. The start is promising and very well written and it's not the typical type of a novel so give it a chance as this author never ceases from surprising you.

I've been following Dentot for a while now, and I must say, she never ceases to get me hooked on her stories! The change of perspective to a male lead is quite refreshing.. I'm expecting more action packed scenes and of course a bit of sexy stuff - maybe a lot of it would be good!

The Boyfriend App

The Boyfriend App

The Bali Girls of course accepted him wholeheartedly afterwards, especially because he and their outside blocker Trish are actually an item now, but, and at Babylee’s own suggestion, he no longer joined their sleepovers. From Mrs. Lapuz, Kate had heard stories about an unspecified hometown as Kate was growing up. During bedtime storytelling, Mrs. Lapuz, who liked going all out, getting into character and changing her voice, told her tales a la Hansel and Gretel, but the grimmer and definitely scarier version because it sounded like it had been lifted from real-life superstition – or what was, in Kate’s own words, “rural legends”, because they retained distinct motifs of countryside animism.

Wanton Hearts

Young and old. "Please, help us! My mother is dying!" The young one beseeched them. Brie was instantly sympathetic. Ivana stared at them. "What kind of creatures are you?" "We are what you people called tikbalang." The face and the head looked like a horse or pony. The hooves, too. But their bodies were that of a female human. They had thick horse-hair as covering. "What happened to you and your mother?" Brie noticed the lashes on their bodies.

The Rejected Quisling

It was of a burned hair, the distinct scent I did not get a whiff off from Banyan and other Kapre. Right there and then, I was sure of my resolve. He was not my friend Banyan without a doubt! One of the tricks of the Tikbalang is to shapeshift into different features or modify and alter its physical form into that of a member of a family, friend or someone closely connected to any traveler that it may come across in the wilds. It then appear, become visible or noticeable, typically without apparent cause, to the victim in this familiar form pretending to know the way. Beware! It was competent and skilled in deceiving its prey into being led through the dark woods or along remote mountain pat

The Supernatural Spa

The Supernatural Spa

Hello there, my dear reader. I'm glad you have returned for more Paranormal and Supernatural stories here at The Spa. We've spoken about the mythological creatures of the Philippines. Well, here is one more to add to your list... Meet the Tikbalang... Tikbalangs are creatures that look like humans but have horse heads. They are actually part of Philippine myths and folklore but are quite different from centaurs who have the body of a man atop the body of a horse. Most depictions of Tikbalangs in illustrations as having horsetails and equine hind feet as well.
