Each step produces a faint echoing sound as if the room itself mourns its neglected state. Suspended from the ceiling by a frail wire, a lone light bulb flickers intermittently, struggling to ward off the pervasive darkness. Its feeble glow casts eerie shadows, barely illuminating the vastness of the room. The sporadic grating sound it produces adds to the unsettling ambiance, making the room feel even colder and more desolate.

Sloane didn't move— just pressed closer. Her forehead against his chest, her face hot and wet with tears. "Turn on... the light. Please..." Lennox's hand reached to the nightstand, and with one motion, clicked the lamp on. It wasn't bright— just a warm, soft glow. The kind of light that belonged in the corner of a childhood home, after a bad dream. The shadows melted into a quiet amber haze, blurring the sharp edges of the night. Sloane squinted at the sudden light,

Small, bright, gentle. “That’s too big,” Kael said. Alessia sighed, “It’s tiny.” “Tiny isn’t small enough.” She narrowed her eyes. “You’re impossible.” “Smaller.” She tried. The glow dimmed a little. “Smaller.” It dimmed again. “Smaller.” “It’s going to disappear,” she snapped. “Good. Make it disappear,” Kael said. She closed her hand, focusing on pulling Lux inward instead of outward. The light compressed into a faint dot. Her jaw clenched. Sweat prickled her forehead.

Yep, this was it. Suddenly, the lights on either end of the hall came on like clockwork and Nick could guess just about how big the room he was standing in was. But so far away, they looked like tiny white dots from where he stood. The thought of moving towards them crossed his mind but just then, the next bulbs immediate to the ones that'd brought light came on. And the next, and the next, and soon all the lights on either side of him were coming on one by one, racing a path to the exact spot where he stood.

The warmth of his skin burned my system, making me feel alive. “We're not riding your monster of a bike?” I asked when we began to walk. He shook his head and glanced at my direction. “It's just you and me tonight.” And that was enough to say that I was captivated by him. I barely know him yet he managed to sweep me off of my feet. We enjoyed the cool breeze of the night and the simple conversation we had along the way. Unlike the other two clubs I've been in the previous nights, this one was not loud and jampacked. The purple neon lights read Sphere and there was no long line of people waiting to have their turn inside. True to his words, we'll definitely have the night to ourselves.

It was different from Amy’s room where the sunlight could easily and freely go through. After turning my room into utter darkness, I examined the stuffed toy’s eyes much closer. I could see some kind of red light stuck very deeply inside of the plastic beady eyes. It came off to me as very, very shocking. The light looked like those which normally came out of a recorder camera, or those newly designed modern security cameras. It literally looked like that. The light was creepily similar to those lights that were built in with cameras. Wait, what do they call it again? Infrared cameras? I think that was it. I kind of forgot the name. .

She put on some strawberry flavored lip gloss and made a loose ponytail of her wig. “I know he thinks I’m pretty.” she thought while looking at herself in the mirror.

Jai pointed that because it was lighter than usual. 'Are you alright?' Jai asked. The little spark felt faint for a second, and Jai didn't know what could that be. Somehow, Jai suddenly felt a bit tense. Jai tried focusing on the spot it appeared and called again, 'Little lightning?' Light twitch. 'Are you tired?' Light twitch. Jai breathed out softly, 'Me too.' Then Jai felt it waver lightly, then faint, then another light twitch. Jai didn't know what those signs meant. But connecting to the previous question, the little power must've been tired too.

Although the silver lights seemed to be unnoticeable under the red glow of the flaming birds, they started to become brighter and brighter when the flaming bird appeared closer and closer. With a wave of his left hand, the silver lights gathered and spun madly around his sword which he was holding in his right hand. In a blink of an eye, the silver lights condensed into two small stars; so small were the two stars that they were at least a billion times smaller than the real ones up above the sky.
