I place my hand on her back, trying to soothe her. "It hurts." She mumbles in between sobs. I move some of the hair from her face and can feel that she's running warmer than usual. She looks up at me, and her eyes are glowing purple. I take in a sharp breath, not expecting her to be showing any signs of her powers developing, but I give her a small, reassuring smile.

And with that, Teagan shifted right in front of us. The sight of the two sisters, fully shifted, next to each other was just breathtaking. Maggie looked like the twilight sky with sunset-colored eyes, while Teagan’s dragon was the exact opposite. She was a beautiful mix of greens and blues, with that metallic look as well. Her eyes were the perfect blend of the brightest yellow and green. One that looked like the end of the day, while the other reminded you of the meadows along the ocean in broad daylight. The contrast was just amazing.
